Any route near south orange county? Santa Ana range?

San Diego route looks great. I will have to go for a run there this summer.

This looks incredible. I would be up for a morning drive to Red Bluff. I'm in the Bay Area. Let me know.

Ortega Hwy (74) from I5 to Lake Elsinore is good when not crowded. This will get to to I15 where you can hit the 76, 79, Palomar Mt. Areas in SD county.

I've driven both directions more than once. Fortuna to Red Bluff is more fun.

Mid better but not absolute. Late is more troublesome.

Thanks for the rec, I will go for a run on this stretch in 2 weeks when I have a few days off. I would love to explore areas around South Orange county, CA.

Wondering if the following week may be better as Werks (in Monterey) is on Aug 19.

Wayne: would leaving on Aug 26 and return on the 27th work for you?

Perhaps a drive up CA 1 (and overnight in the Eureka area) and CA 36 early Sat AM?

Perhaps Joe, Mike, etc want to join...

That late in the month, prepping for a longer trip, I might reluctantly live vicariously through the rest of you. My schedule is getting cramped and losing a couple weeks of house remodeling to the table saw incident isn't helping :-(

WR weekend won't work for me. I already have my reservations down there for a few days. The following weekend is clear.
