Love all these roads. Out in the various canyons pretty much every weekend. Did the full Mulholand route a few weeks ago and ran into Jay Leno in his yellow Mclaren P1.

Glendora Ridge Mountain Road is on the upcoming video list for sure.

My favorite in the malibu area is Latigo.

If you do Glendora ridge, be careful for small rocks, blind curves and bicycles.
I did it on a week day, so not bad. It is a real narrow road with tight twisties. I think I would enjoy that road better in my 330 HP Lotus 7!!

I've always wondered what the Angeles Crest highway looked like, thanks for posting it, it's awesome. How did you manage to avoid Prius traffic and bicyclists?

Could Norcal Bay Area folks - suggest some 3 hour drive 1-way nice routes 45-70 mph various speeds that are not busy just for a nice drive during our nice weather weekend? I'm familiar already with some of the closer golden gate region PCA routes...

Thanks OP the post- too bad some of my favorite routes are SOCAL..

i'll be tire shopping soon too. After my Sat morning. Heres Hudson Ranch Rd near Hwy 33 & 166, Between Pine Mountain Club and Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge. This is my favorite road. IT HAS BANKED CURVES!

At the 5:00 min mark the road transports you to a British B road! lol

I'm a SoCal guy but I remember from my time in the Bay Area that CA-130/Mt. Hamilton Road leading east from San Jose was awesome. Take it to Lick Observatory at the top and continue on to Mines Rd. all the way to Livermore.

FYI, a group of us had planned to do the Mt Hamilton run a couple of weeks ago. We were warned that it had recently been chip-sealed, and to avoid it through this Summer until it's had a chance to settle.

Local route to me: Hwy 92 East-->Hwy 35 (Skyline Blvd) South (Alice's Restaurant along the way)-->Hwy 9 South--> Hwy 236 North--> Hwy 9 North--> Hwy 35 North--> Hwy 84 West--> Hwy 1 North or South.... There are several other routes within this envelope, Pescadero-La Honda Rd., Stage Rd., Empire Grade. Been running these since my teens, which seems only a few years ago.

Then, of course, there's a whole slew of additional roads in Marin County, and heading East toward Yosemite. If/when you come this way, let us know.

Thanks Joe and Andy - appreciate the info and road condition heads up
- Joe, those highway 1 routes are great and the ones I've driven similar to some of the local GG REGION drives, thanks again..

Hmm, hopefully the road is in good condition.

BTW, I'm pretty certain this footage of the extremely lust-worthy Shark Werks car was filmed on Mines Rd:
