So stuck at a recital with another order and not sure how to use quote on the phone so in no particular order

Wife has a 996 - cool

Um, yes, seriously

Neighbors have a sold sign not a bad idea.

Prank? I hope so. If wife did it kind of funny, but I suspect a lazy daughter.

I think I'm going to move all the stuff to the driver seat of her car.

That's a good one. Or put her car up for sale jokingly on Craigslist. Then send her the link. Could also lost it dirt cheap and then put her number or email in as the contact.

I got home from work and opened the garage and saw it and was shocked.

So my question is, is it unreasonable if I demand they come home and clean it now (it's a 7 hour drive each way) or whether I clean it and hold it against them forever?
Sorry, but I just can't get past "3 of my daughters". Only 3 of them? Good gawd man how many do you have???

Dgik, my dad was a mechanic, welder and fabricator of parts and components for antique car restorers, hot rodders, racers etc. The two of us lived next to his shop and I grew up knowing what type of cars, components etc were delicate and how much our livelihood depending on not damaging anything. However, I found many other ways to annoy him.

So, after utilizing this teachable moment, be prepared for many, many more to arise.

I would take them all to court for diminished value! All joking aside, i really hope you are joking with this post. If you are serious, then i would just maybe take a picture of the crap on the car and send them a text and politely remind them that you don't appreciate them putting their stuff on your car. Leave it on the car and have them clean it up when they get back. If it didn't do any damage then don't sweat the small stuff.

Assuming the post was serious:

I'm not sure that asking this question in a public forum is the best first step, but it's better than being unreasonable with one's family. Seriously: If I came home to this, it would tick me off, but I'd clean up and probably have forgotten about it by the time I spoke to them. I'd eventually remember, and say something snide, only to end up appearing totally insane to everyone else in the room.

Yes, when you're feeling reasonably calm, you should ask them not to do it again, and point out that it could have lead to paint damage that would make you unhappy or required repairs. But that's it. Be happy that they are part of your family. They matter more to you than any car possibly could.

Beginning to make more sense now. I mean, that you would indeed be in shock at having a Porsche.

Just to clarify.

I am in shock

I usually appear somewhat insane to the other people in the room

I should not have used the term trash. I was just angry. It was a pair of sunglasses, couple water bottle, phone charger, and a package of kleenex.

I like this one - not too damaging, but drives the point home.

Or gently lift all the stuff off and strew it about the driveway like you backed out and it fell off, then when they return, have them clean it up.

Take a pic, send it to them where the message just says WTF !

List the items on Craigslist and send her the link.
(Probably good idea to not actually sell them)

Last night I was out wiping down the cars and I my nine year old daughter was playing with the neighbor kid. I hear her tell some other kid "you'd better not let that ball go near my dad's Porsche or he'll probably kill you. That car means a lot to him!"
