Ohh, super geek time! I take your point, but if you mix equal amounts of every possible color you’ll end up with black (actually, a really nasty, very dark brown). Which leads to my second point - there are so many blacks which all look different (which means they are all projecting some level of color - as does every silver). Which leads to my third point, which is that even the most pure black automotive paints reflect a LOT of color - just look at the blue tones on top the car, light & dark areas, earth tones reflected in the lower bodywork… Which leads to my fourth point, which is that work today is Monday-level boring & tedious, but I really need to get back to it.

Black is beautiful but I will never own another black car. It’s just too hard to keep clean.

I agree. Black can be all kinds of things. Plain black, basalt black which I have that's a metallic version of black with some things going on other than just plain black. Then atlas grey which can look black on a cloudy day or at night but also has some dark blue in it which is visible in bright light. I think what they all have in common though is that it's almost part time work keeping them looking good, especially if a daily driver.

To me though, a well maintained, recently washed 911 with ceramic coating is a good look. Even a well waxed and polished car without the ceramic looks good to me. Problem of course is that most don't have the time and/or patience to keep up with it so a lot of black cars look like s**t even after driving on a rain soaked road for 5 minutes after a 2 + hour treatment of the exterior.

It’s the opposite for me. I swear every time I see one it’s a Targa.
