Default 05 S for sale for 36K

no affiliation, just came across this and thought $36K is a great price for a 05 S with less than 50k miles. Just passing it along in case anyone is looking.

What a steal - i've been half tempted to purchase an additional 997S with prices in the mid 30's for nice ones. Strongest used car buy around.

Carmax is known to be a dumping ground for "bad" vehicles, but what the heck they offer a warranty.

Wife might be due for a car in a year or 2. I would rather spend 35k on a nice 997 then something pedestrian which will cost almost as much money. She's driving a nice Jag XJ8 right now but I know she thinks my 997 is way cooler (which it is) haha.

I thought the manual was supposed to command a premium?

Hard to tell from the photos, but the hood looks like it might be a slightly different color than the front bumper. Also, no sport Chrono, no PSE, and probably not full leather, so a fairly low optioned car, but an S nonetheless and mid $30s is a good price. Has the Turbo style wheels too.

it has a small scratch on the rear bumper and looks like hood has some stains. Might be just bad pictures - I will be asking for more detailed ones. The advert lists leather seats and navigation... no chrono and PSE indeed. I like the fact that it's manual. I was set for tiptronic for easy navigating Chicago's traffic but test drove manual the other day and I'm sold. We will see what happens.

Does CarMax allow independent PPI's?

Also, CarMax does not recondition their vehicles like most dealerships do. They just want to flip the car asap and make their $.

No. However, because they have a 3 or 5 day (something like that) money back guarantee, you can buy the car then get it inspected and return it if you want.

That's what I plan on doing if I decide to go for it. It also depends on how much they gonna low ball me on my trade in.

Good luck checking it out, hope it works out. so is Carmax really "no haggle price"? They won't budge on the price? Just wondering.

No, they absolutely DO NOT negotiate AT ALL. Neither on the car you want to buy or appraisal of your trade in. The salesman seemed offended a bit when I asked if there's any room to negotiate. Honest kbb gave me $17,8k for my Mercedes C350 while they offered me $16k. I owe 16,5 on it. Not sure what I want to do. My Benz has 28500 miles on it and is 2009. Porsche is 4 years older and has 18k more miles. The monthly payment difference would be around $180 more... Decicions decisions....

Carmax will not negotiate on either end. They also do not sell crappy cars.
If you really like it, go for it. The 5 day money back guarantee is real, so you can get it inspected and if something bad turns up you can take it back. Another option for your C350 is to sell it personally. You'll get more for it. This would also make more sense if you did have to return the C2S - you would still have a car.
