Thanks for the great insight into the PDK vs. manual attributes. I am ready to give the PDK a try.
One question (apologies if this has been beat to death) - what are your opinions on paddle shifters vs the buttons on the wheel? I have spoken to several folks with PDK cars during DE weekends and they tend to just put the car in automatic and not worry about shifting so in that case the shifting mechanism is a moot point. Does anyone actually use the shift function of PDK?
I have seen both options on the PDK cars out there and also know you can add the paddles aftermarket (apparently easier on the wheels without multifunction) in the range of 1.5 to 2K. Better to have the factory paddles?
Thanks

Pros of the paddles is they are more intuitive in some ways, larger and more standardized these days.
Cons of the paddles is not multi-function steering wheel buttons, which are on almost every car built in the past 15 years.
Pros of the buttons is you shift up and down with one hand.
A good middle ground could be a multi-function steering wheel with aftermarket Techart paddles added.

The paddles may not be as nice as the factory metal ones but you'll keep the buttons.
A THIRD option is a 991.2 GT steering wheel that has paddles and multi-buttons. However I read they won't work on the 997.2

Jesus...I think Pcarmarket isn't hot enough yet. They should be charging little or no fees until they get enough eyes looking and bidding.

People selling just do not grasp how bad an idea auctions can be. Very limited market and mostly bottom feeders looking for deals.
A close friend of mine just sent about 70 cars off to Mecum a year ago. I tried to talk him out of it or least spread them out over many auctions. He did not listen and took a beating. Mecum screwed him when he tried to place reserves and said they had already advertise his cars as no reserve. They screwed up and he took a beating. He got about 40% across the board of what he would have set his reserve at. If thinking of using Mecum for anything, I would not walk. I would run like hell away after hearing how they handled part of y friend's family collection.

But usually there are folks with deep pockets at Mecum. There is an awesome car for auction right now on Pcar

Not a cabrio guy and while I like the brown, I wouldn't own one. But wow, this is one clean and rare car! Even still has the orange side markers! Somebody snap this one up please!

Weren't Sport Seats standard on the GTS? Why would someone spec standard seats?

To get ventilation for convertible. A must in my opinion if in southern climates. I actually prefer these seats now over sports seats after having sports seats on a slew of 996s and 997s.
