No, white remains a very popular and desirable color for Porsche and cars in general. The poster that wrote that was probably being sarcastic, or is clueless. I'm guessing he thought it was funny.

I tried to buy that car but due to the fact that they had all the documentation and history on the car EXCEPT any receipts, photos, etc. of the body work I decided to walk away. Apparently, the front bumper and back bumper has been painted. Could have been nothing major so I told them that if they could produce the insurance claim report or the invoice from the body shop I guaranteed to buy the car at asking price. The stealer said that no documents existed but the car was traded and the PO was a 'friend' of the dealership owner. When I asked them to put me in touch with the owner to see if I could get the history and they refused. I now see the car is off market... I would be really interested to hear who bought it and what the real story was?? Must have been the cheapest 997.2 S with such low mileage in the country. You know what they say about "...to good to be true."

I'll be listing my 997 for sale soon. '06 C4S, 6MT, X51, PCCB's, Carrera Sports, TechArt coilovers and steering wheel. Lots of options.

If I find my way into another it'll likely be a GTS with PDK. I may go in a different direction though.

Wow, the owner did a fantastic job of documenting everything and taking great pictures. The high mileage and engine rebuild is probably what attributed to the sub $30k winning bid. From looking at those pictures, that car doesn't look like it's been driven over a 100k miles and you're getting a next-to-new engine. Someone got a deal on that car, IMO.

White and tan is such a nice combo. That 100k-mile interior sure dispels the idea in that other thread that beige interiors wear out and look gross really fast.

Thats a very fair price considering buyer also paid $1,350 in fees to BAT. I wouldn't call it deal of the century.
