It is your car and the auto body shop you have chosen needs to know your expectations. Talk to them. They are good at managing the adjusters.
A classic comment from one of the big German manufacturers is that the real damage from an accident is when the car is not repaired properly.

Having said that, the car drove perfectly (and still does) for the past 16+ years.

While I hate to have the accident history and devaluation, I'm hoping the car isn't totaled. I can't imagine they would give me enough to cover a good replacement, the search would be a pain, and it would take a lot of effort to get the mods right again.

I have never really cared for black wheels on a white 997. The black stone guards on your car, however, make the wheels look "right". I like it. New rule: black wheels on a white car requires black stone guards :-)

Was thinking of trading it in after the accident but they did such a great job I couldnt, instead ordered H&R Springs, K&N Filters, Plenum, and Muffler Bypass...
