quetion on narrow and wide body
ok, so coming from a 993 and 996 where "S" always meant a wide body, I know understand that this is not the case for the 997.2? So is this correct?
C2=narrow body
C2S=narrow body
C4=narrow body
C4S=narrow body
GT3=narrow body
GTS=wide body
Turbo=wide body
C2=narrow body
C2S=narrow body
C4=narrow body
C4S=narrow body
GT3=narrow body
GTS=wide body
Turbo=wide body

Turbo/Turbo S = Wide Body
C4S/C4 = Wide Body
GTS/4GTS = Wide Body
GT3 RS = Wide Body
GT2/GT2 RS = Wide Body
Sport Classic = Wide Body
Speedster = Wide Body
Edit: Forgot to mention the wide body Targa 4/4S.
*Ah, I see it's also been mentioned below.

CosmoC4S is correct but forgot that also the C4 is widebody.
This list is exhaustive (i think):
C2/C2S/C2(S) Cabrio = narrow body
C4S/C4/C4(S) Targa/C4(S) Cabrio = Wide Body
GTS/4GTS/GTS Cabrio/4GTS Cabrio = Wide Body
GT3 = narrow body
GT3 RS(4.0) = Wide Body
GT3 Cup = Wide Body
GT2/GT2 RS = Wide Body
Sport Classic = Wide Body
Speedster = Wide Body
Turbo/Turbo S/Turbo Cabrio(S) = Wide Body
This list is exhaustive (i think):
C2/C2S/C2(S) Cabrio = narrow body
C4S/C4/C4(S) Targa/C4(S) Cabrio = Wide Body
GTS/4GTS/GTS Cabrio/4GTS Cabrio = Wide Body
GT3 = narrow body
GT3 RS(4.0) = Wide Body
GT3 Cup = Wide Body
GT2/GT2 RS = Wide Body
Sport Classic = Wide Body
Speedster = Wide Body
Turbo/Turbo S/Turbo Cabrio(S) = Wide Body

I think that's where the confusion comes in, especially if you're familiar with the 996 bodies. In that series, the C4 is a narrow body and the C4S is a wide body.
Hats off to the Porsche marketing group! It only becomes more confusing now that most of the 911 range are turbos.

I always thought a 996 C4 was not a wide body. I'm confused now, and may be wrong, could someone who knows this for sure please confirm?
Oh yes, and I forgot the GT2 is also wide body.
And the C4S shares the brakes and suspension, besides the body, of the 996 Turbo. (minus the wing and side air-scoops)

He's asking about 997. My list above is exhaustive and accurate for all 997 models.

I think there is also a difference between 997 and 991 for some of the models, in case anyone is curious about all the water-cooled variants.
What you'll find though is that it's the narrow body cars that are more exclusive as there are fewer NB cars now than wide body, which is a complete 180 from the old air-cooled cars (pre-993) when widebodies were more exclusive
