The 997 has great visibility and handles the rain really well. As long as it's not too cold.

It's cozy too.

Yes, that's the somewhat weirdly named Porsche Racing Green, next to the Smyrna Green S90 Cab (it was a coincidence, not an obsession). Same Sand Beige interior--these were the launch cars for 2009. So far, it's been a zero defect car. I should keep my fingers crossed saying that. Don't get to the OC C&C, but I will drive the old Cab up to RRV next weekend. (rain or shine )

Ouch! That's a job best left to an SUV.

It's my only car and it's only a car. It sits outside my office in the hot sun every day, and it also rains a bit nearly every day here, and when it does it's typically a downpour. Mine is a 10 yr old base C2 997 with 62K miles on it, is going to depreciate whether or not I drive it, and is not and almost certainly will not (in my driving lifetime) ever be an appreciating classic. I'm not going to live forever, and probably there will come a time when I won't be able to drive anymore. I see no reason to pay the expenses on some mundane second car and drive something I don't get any particular enjoyment from meanwhile leaving the Porsche going to rot in my garage.

I actually look forward to the rain. Frogs are made for it. I love driving in the rain. If it's only a light rain, I leave the top down - big deal. If it's pouring rain, top up.

I think it's a pleasure to drive in the rain. Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and just go easy if it's the first rain of the season, but these cars are total rockstars in the rain.

Only drawback is with the top & windows up, I can't hear the exhaust as much as I'd like.

I take solace in the fact that my stereo comes to life when the cabin's all closed up.

I drove in a light rain last week, but I didn't use my wipers because that's extra wear and tear. Rain just cleans things when you are going fast... and why use the wipers when a fair amount of the droplets blow off?

You should ask this question over on Ferrari chat and see what replies you get.

You would be tossed out as a troll and removed from the factory list therfore never being able to buy another one.

What's a little sand and dirt in your ... um... body parts. How to clean the car afterwards? Why blast through deep puddles. Wooooo Hoooooo!

Peace
