if your g2 wheel has multifunction then you 100% will need the steering module.
This thread has been helpful but I"m still a bit confused. I have a 2007 GT3 (w/ non MF alcantara wheel) and have acquired a 2010 GT3 gen 2 wheel and airbag. I'm ready to make the switch w/o the module with instructions to my tech to program it like it has the MF wheel. Will I be good or should I source a new module to be safe? Thanks

hmm, based on what I've read if you don't have MF on your new wheel, and wish to see if your 997.1 steering wheel module will work you will need a PIWIS to enabled MULTIFUNCTION ON in the 997.1 steering wheel module. it likely will get your horn to work.
if it doesn't however then you will need the module.
