The general consensus is that the MPSS are the best but otherwise currently unavailable.
So I'm on the path for a new set of shoes and thought this would be useful to other members as well.

Whatever you do don't let anyone tell you that Hankook Venti junk is a good tire for your 911.
How about some super sticky R compound tires. Toyo R888, Pirelli Corsa (I run the stock Corsas on my Ford and I eat Porsches alive on the track.) Here's a video of me running with an advanced run group.
BTW that GTS in your profile picture has to be the one of the nicest around.

MPSS are great, however being a summer tire don't work for everyone. Plus here in Seattle I have found them difficult to use. Weather here can be too good for my blizzaks and too bad for my MPSS. Next time may just get a nicer all season or keep MPSS and a more forgiving winter tire.

There aren't any recommended by Porsche. That being said, I think you should be able to find some all-seasons that fit your car. I use dedicated winter and summer tires, so I can't recommend specific brands. Have you tried the Continental ExtremeContact DWS? What about the Pirelli P Zero Nero?

Can confirm the Continental DWS as a superb all season.
I've had three previous sets of DWSs on my cars in the past. I scooped up a set for the 997 for daily duty.
I still don't understand why you guys would spend $1000+ on PSSs for simple daily driving, when they're not going to be as good in the rain as an all-season, or as good during competition as a DOT-R or Extreme Performance tire.

I put Continental Extreme Contact DWS on my C2 this spring for same reasons as the bloke from Seattle. The many cold days / mornings / evenings in Toronto make a summer tire just rock hard and harsh. I drive occasionally in the winter so like the "S" part of the equation. The ride with these tires is extremely compliant, tire wear rating outstanding, and they are reasonably priced. I must say I have lost some turn-in and feel since switching from Bridgestone RE050As but no regrets at all. I will report on how this coming winter goes but I am thinking the DWS will allow me to sell my dedicated winters. We'll see.

I have a nice set of r888 and another set of wheels for track and I drive like a granny around town. Maybe i'd be happier with all-arounders.
Texas roads are such ****...driving between Dallas, Austin, and Houston and in-side those cities this year I have received 4 NAILS in rear tires. Sigh.
