OK. C2S vs C2GTS, bullet point questionson differences
#46
Just a thought:
A 2012 GTS will cost mid to high $80s.
A 2010 Turbo will cost about the same.
400 h.p. v. 500 h.p. A simple flash will get you around 560 h.p. in a Turbo.
You can get both with the pita CLs.
Both have the *glorious* WB.
I have a C2S, to me, the real upgrade would be to a Turbo. Why?
+25 h.p. isn't a huge difference. A flash and a new plenum ($2K) will put a C2S very close to the GTS's 408 h.p.
CLs are not something I would want.
PSE is an expensive toy that breaks with regularity (About every week there is a thread titled "Help, PSE doesn't work").
I like the full leather v. Alcantara.
No one lose their minds, just a thought...
Good Luck, whatever you do.

Haven't looked at GTS prices recently, but my '12 GTS (CPO) was listed at $90k, paid $80k, MSRP $132k. So, is mid to high $80k now the market?

High $80s. For a CPO car, yes. There are some deals out there, but hopefully one would see my point.

I've been scouring autotrader and here and west coast c/l. I have a price of 72 to 75k (silver and white) and i want a 6spd. I have a buddy with the turbo, and while its super powerful, i think it feels too much like a two-stoke (dirt bikes as thats my other drug) hit imo. But for the value, yes, way better bang for you buck power wise. Was inches away from a GT3, but they just keep gettin outa $ range...

I've been down that road with thoughts about the next car. Love the power of the turbo but not a fan of the body. To me, the cavities in the rear fenders and the decklid wing take away from the flow and curves of the WB. It's also tough if not impossible to get a decent exhaust note out of the turbo. The PSE & sharkworks x-over pipes combo on the GTS is just killer imo and could never be duplicated on a turbo.

But, you are right, nothing beats the sound of a normally aspirated 911.
Having said that:
40-60 in …. 1 sec.
Sub 3 sec. 0-60.
Sub 10 sec. 1/4 mile.
You would be amazed at what a difference 1 second makes.
After three 911s and 2 Caymans, I realize now that I should have cut to the chase.

Yes, sub 10-1/4, now thats some ****...My 70 Camaro (in my avatar) is sub 12, gets a little slow around 75+, be nice if it could "neck snap" to 130ish....
