OK. C2S vs C2GTS, bullet point questionson differences
#17
I have both right now — 997.2 C2S and 997.2 GTS. In the end, I'll have paid about $20k more for the (two year newer) GTS. In my opinion, it is worth every single penny. The GTS really is more than the sum of its parts. It just looks and feels more special, and the added music at the top end really makes driving it an even more special experience. I still love the C2S, and its narrow body is perhaps a bit more "pure," but the GTS has stolen my heart.
I'm hoping it's not too redundant (if it is I suppose I could just sell the 997.1 down the road) but would love to have 2 separate models of my favorite 911 series....

She does have a nice rear......In the words of my favorite stand up philosopher Rodney D, "people ask me 'am i a breast man, leg man, *** man?, i figure i'm an *** man, every time i walk down the street people tell me "hey, your an *** man!"

Is the suspension on the GTS's PASM? stock or optional?
As i haven't bought yet, I'm leaning towards 6 speed.
Down to white or silver. Theres an almost perfect white one here for sale but about 7500 over my price point. So, save up a little bit more and hope its still there in 2-3 months, or hope that one pops up here or AT for 72ish....(plus t&l)....oh the agony of waiting.

PASM, standard on GTS.
Sport PASM (lower by 10 mm + LSD), optional
LSD (standalone), optional
BTW, if you go PDK, Sport Chrono Plus is a MUST. Also, good for MT, but, IMO, not as necessary.

EDIT: (Four plus months after the above post.) For posterity's sake... In the end, when factoring in what I ended up selling my C2S for, and including sales tax on the new car, and also including some interior enhancements I made to the new car, I will have spent about $33k more for my GTS. That added up quickly. However, I am absolutely thrilled with the upgrade. I will say this, right now is the very best time to find solid, relatively low mileage 997.2 C2S, likely 2009s and 2010s, for simply outstanding prices. My guess is they will not lose too much more of their value, and will hold steady soon enough. Get them while you can. And if you can and are willing to stretch to a GTS, just do it. They're such amazing cars. ;-)

I'm digging these white GTSs!

Thanks. I agree... It didn't start out being so much. It was first supposed to be up-to $20k to upgrade to the extraordinarily heavily optioned, two year newer car. Tax was a good chunk of the final tally, of course, and I did end up adding a lot of Alcantara, carbon fiber, and leather to the cabin. Also, I ended up making a deal for the older car for several thousand less than I expected to when I started out selling it. (Again, that's why I feel this is the very best time to find early 997.2 C2Ses. Really great cars out there right now, that are hitting a sweet spot in the price/value spectrum. $50-60k will get you a very nice C2S.) At least it went to someone who will cherish it as much as I did. Anyway, overall, I'm very happy with the result, as the GTS, setup as it is, is now the exact 997.2 car that I want to keep forever. I have zero interest in any of the newer cars; to me the 997.2 is the best of the modern cars. I'm now on the hunt, though, for a nice 993 coupe to "restore" and setup to my specs. ;-)

If you're tracking the car, I agree, 5-lug wheels are best. If you're not, IMO, no issues. However, if you intend to work on your car's brakes, wheels, you will need to invest $400 for needed tools.
