No, not quite!
Back in 2009 when the 997.2 was first introduced Porsche stated:
And, they keep stating the exactly same thing about the 981/991:
The question is that from MY11 onwards all the 997.2 S PDK came with a 3rd central radiator from factory independently of the country or climate... WHY?

BTW, anyone knows how the power steering fluid is cooled on the 997.2 ?

The freon from the air conditioning system gets sent to the intake manifold via the CO2 converter. If the car has a third radiator, the freon bypasses the converter and goes directly to the steering rack to cool the steering fluid. Does your car have pdk or is it a manual? That changes things.

Ummm... the 991 must represent a BIG step forward then, because I can't see none of those potential issues you're talking about in here:

Wait a minute... I remember now, contrary to what happens in the 997.2 the power steering of the 991 doesn't need any cooling whatsoever as it is electrically assisted and not hydraulically.
One less issue to be worried about, at least, on heavy duty applications.

Another indication of how technically clueless you are, regarding heat generating sources and other issues. Go out and drive a Camry!

Lol. Watching CaymanPower post is kind of like watching the Kardashians. You know it's bad and you can't understand why they're so ________ (fill in the blank), but you watch it because its like an accident that you can't look away from.

Then it dawned on me: I think he is a teenager. No adult would hang around a place where they are not liked/appreciated/insulted. It is like the crank-call syndrome.

Or simply burned once, insecure to jump into the pond again, and really only comfortable with a Prius at the end of the day. Cayman, anything that works will eventually break. If you need a Porsche then buy a 991 with the latest and greatest of all the things you have pointed out the 997 lacks (must lack since the 991 got them). Just putting in my 2 cents.

The 991's engine is arguably the best water cooled Porsche boxer engine yet, namely as far as reliability goes.
Unfortunately, I don't like the 991's concept as a whole. If I could choose I would rather have a 997.2 with the 991's engine in it.

Porsches aren't water cooled. They're air-cooled. The coolant is for the tires.

^^^ that's news to me. I just put some more cooling air in my tyres. Should I be using coolant instead? ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
I'm worried my engine will blow now...
I may top up the oil filler with coolant too, just to be sure.

The 991's engine has a much better coolant thermal management system and an uprated DFI system with better injectors, capable of higher fuel injection pressures and much better fuel atomization.
The engine's redline is now at 7800 rpm!
All things considered, the 991's engine is more free revving, has better performance, better gas mileage, lower oil consumption rates and better reliability when compared to the engine of the equivalent 997.2's model.
It's a no brainer, really!
