You would have to be an absolute bonehead to ding one of their cars, going around the track at 1/4 speed in a Mother Goose lead/follow.

I'm going to assume your comment wasn't meant to be condescending..
I have no concerns about my driving.
I do have concerns about the possibility of there being someone that you would classify as a bonehead driver behind me.
Insurance is all about risk reduction. For me a $10,000 exposure is too much.

I don't buy track insurance for my 09 C4S with the 4 DE events and solo lapping done this summer at Pacific raceways. That track is not as butter smooth as Barber MS park. Yet the potential 10K hit was the factor in the risk reduction equation. Now I am going to try to figure what the savings might be with a rental car and staying by the track entrance versus Ross Bridge and using their shuttle for transportation.

I've been to PSDS for a total of 6 days; 2 for g/f's Ladies Only class; 2 for my Performance class; and 2 for our joint Masters class. I stayed at Ross Bridge each time, but the Hampton Inn at the track entrance was still under construction the last time I went in April of '09.

Ross Bridge is a great hotel. The food there is terrific as well. Riding back and forth each day in the shuttle is a great chance to start bonding with your fellow students. All in all, I think it adds significantly to the experience.

But with that said, when I go back for Masters Plus (hopefully next September) I'll probably just stay at the Hampton Inn because it's just so darned convenient.

I just went through those figures here Seapar. Risk reduction. Absolutely. it is worth it to me.
For the few dollars it saves for changing hotels it just isn't worth the hassle however.
Don't forget the hosted dinner is at the RossBridge. You probably would want to go to that I'd assume.
RossBridge will even take you direct from the track to the airport if necessary for an extra charge, so i can make the last flight out of Dodge.

Thanks. I will stay put at Ross bridge then. Thanks for doing the math. I used some Southwest FF miles/ points for the trip.

OP here.

Another question: I have my own helmet (Snell 2005, full-face, visor). For those of you who have gone, do you recommend I bring my own, or are theirs just fine.

I called PSDS today and requested a manual and they said you will an opportunity to drive both drivetrains. They also said in the April sessions they will likely have some 991s for hot laps with instructors but no promises can be made.

991 as a demo for a hot lap is fine by me.
As long as I'll be driving a 997.

Well the final weekend before my time at Barber Motorsports Park has arrived.
The long range weather forecast looks good.
The adrenaline is already working its way through my body.

They had a fleet of 991s there this weekend at the Indy/Porsche 250 race, including the S model. I believe the school at Barber is all 991 models.
