I'm going to try once more although it's been my experience that arguing with a liberal is a waste of time.
First, how can you be so sure that the OP wasn't subjected to this diatribe and abuse because he was driving an expensive car.....couldn't that have been the case? Or are your opinions the facts? Unless you a totally dishonest that has to be a possibility! It's also interesting that your first thoughts go to racism and that never even occurred to me....just something to think about my friend.
Secondly, who cares about how much people make or don't make? In this great country everyone can be successful if that's what you want. you work for it it's yours. Everyone has the same opportunities! This administration vilifies success and that's un-American and it results in the asinine demonstrations going on all over the country. If you don't like where you are look in the mirror and blame that guy....because he's responsible.....period.
Thirdly, if you don't see that this administration is engaging in class warfare then I truly don't know what to say. Maybe describing people who make $200,000 a year as millionaires and billionaires seems honest to you but most people in this country can recognize a lie when they hear it. Suggesting to people that this jobs bill is the answer to our jobs crisis and if your against it you're against jobs isn't an honest description of the opposing viewpoint is it? Aren't you embarrassed by this?

The problem as I explained earlier is that WE COLLECTIVELY have put short-term profits AND benefits over long-term prosperity of ALL CLASSES by SHIPPING jobs elsewhere and buying CHEAP CRAP MADE IN CHINA!
Instead of fighting amongst ourselves, we should start looking to the outside and see what's going on! Just pay a visit to Vancouver and see HOW MANY Millionares/Billionares visit here from China, take a trip to Shanghai or Beijing and see what is going on! The jobs, money, prosperity that once was all over North America has completely shifted over there and as much as they deserve credit for their progress, it's our fault to let it happen at the pace of the past two decades!
That's the problem with 2-party system, you guys start attacking each other, call each other names and are stuck within the idiologies while COMPLETELY MISSING that you are BOTH ON THE SAME SIDE and you need to focus energy/anger/frustration elsewhere to get out of this rut!

In light of the OP's statements, if racism never occurred to you then the only rational conclusions that one can draw are that you either consider this kind of behavior to be acceptable, which I am sure is not the case, or you never actually read the OP's posts before launching into your diatribe.
So, with that said, it's pretty obvious why a number of posters commented on the racism that the OP experienced. It's right there in his posts.... Perhaps it's not that us "liberals" aren't telling the truth - might it be more that you didn't bother reading the thread?

Did it ever occur to you that attempting to insult the person you're discussing a topic with might have something to do with the difficulty of getting your point across? To paraphrase something that you said above, if you find arguing with someone a waste of time look in the mirror and blame that guy...because he's responsible. I don't have all the answers and neither do you. If everyone started from there, we might actually find solutions to our problems.

Hmmm. You seem to have chosen to overlook that in post 1, the OP specifically said that he was told to "go back to his own country", and that in post 8 he confirmed he was of Asian descent. There's your racism right there.

Look at the US society as a pyramid where the bottom represents the poor and the top the rich. How do you figure that chipping away at the bottom of the pyramid in order to expand the top will enhance the long term structure of this pyramid? That's exactly what we've been doing here for decades imo. Little by little although it seems to have accelerated in the last couple of decades. You may enjoy life at the top of the pyramid but you won't enjoy it for long if the base starts to crumble. No matter how self sufficient you think you are, you still depend on society as a whole to a large extent. In a civilized society that is. As for the occupy movement, obscene amounts of money were been made by a very few at the expense of millions of others in the past 10 years. Maybe illegally and so far without consequence. That's what the movement is about in my opinion. Not class warfare. The worst case of class warfare I can recall in my lifetime was being forced to bail out financial institutions that had fleeced millions of taxpayers of their life savings with newly invented "financial instruments". As a taxpayer, you have no problem with that? I hear hardly a whisper from the far right about this outrage which is odd considering the ideology they like to advance. I.E....anyone who can't hold their own deserves to fail. The hold your own concept only applies to certain classes?

ABSOLUTELY! But, with a bit of effort you can manage to maybe start moving away.
The perfect example was me trying to find a better Tire Pressure gauge, the most recommended was "Longacre", I almost bought it, but before pulling the trigger I emailed and asked where was it made, they said "Made in Asia" and used a lame excuse as "the best products are no longer made in US"... so I searched around and found an AMAZING Tire Pressure Gauge by Mittle Brothers (Tanner Racing) at the same price and I just bought that last night!
I've just become more concious, like before picking up an item, I look at "where it's made" and try to support local businesses, and although 80% of the time I have no other alternative, whenever I got a choice I DO make that a criteria for purchase. When and if most people become more concious of that, and maybe start moving that 20% of items toward local products we can collectively move the needle!

You're completely missing the point. It's widely accepted that the US economy is made up by consumer spending at the rate of 70% to 75% and "consumers" in this context represent the so called middle class.

You speak about the bottom as if those people had a name. The bottom is the bottom only for some finite time period and then they move up or down....they're not the same people and they're at the bottom because of the decisions they made....if they don't want to be there then do something about it but stop putting your hand out for my money. Go to work....go to school but do it with your money...not mine. O.K.?
We're not all in this together because I couldn't give 2 shi*ts about you if you're not my family or my friend....are you able to grasp that philosophy or is that too deep for you?
