LIES!

its 9 and 3!!!

LOL @ some replies...
yesterday I got the "cool wave" from a Cayman right before he turned into a jack *** and cut 3 cars off to show how fast his car is? I felt embarrassed for his girl in the car....maybe she likes it I dont know...I mean he cut between to cars i didnt think he would fit - it was CLOSE

I wave at all - water, air, SUV, or luxury - same blood lines....you can choose your friends but not your relatives

I wave or flash when I notice - sometimes the other driver see me first...

I think the wave is something I carried over from my Motorcycle riding days. It was very common in that community(cruiser or crotch rocket) and have noticed much of the same brotherhood from the Porsche community.

As I stated before and others here, there is more of a "brotherhood" between air cooled owners. Probably because we are part of the "rarer" breed of Porsche owners. On another point, I don't wave at anything watercooled anymore (I rarely ever got a response) and never did wave at anything but a Carrera in the first place.

Could be. I wonder too if some of the lack of response, not just in the Bay Area, is a sign of the times. People are more guarded, self-absorbed, less likely in general to just wave or respond to a stranger. And sure, the sports car/Porsche demographic has also changed some.

I wonder about people who identify themselves by the cars/bikes they own. I understand it, but still wonder about them.....I would love to see pick-up drivers waving to each other, that would be funny.
I wonder if there's an F150 forum that has a bunch of guys from brokeback mountain talking about why they're not getting a return wave in town????
Better yet, I wonder what the regular world would think after reading this thread. That's George Carlin funny.

I always wave to other 911s, new or old. And if they don't wave back I get my wittle feelings hurt. But then soon after another 911 driver will wave to me before I have time to wave back. Then I feel bad for not returning their wave.

I just need to buy a mechanical hand and stick it on my dashboard so it waves at everyone.

I always give the wave to all 911's. Get a wave back over half the time.

When I had a 1968 911 it was common for a wave between Porsche drivers. These days I often wave but rarely a wave back.

The vette comment has me remembering when I bought a used 1969. I remember telling all of my friends that whoever owned the car before me must have had a lot of friends because every time another vette went by they waved like they knew me, so I just waved back. My ignorance became quite the joke among friends.

one of the biggest "brotherhoods" out there is between motorcycle riders. I ride myself, but currently do not own. Ever bikery I have ever came across while riding and still I observe to this day, gives each other a signal. Usually a below the tank thumbs up or something of that nature.

SARGEPUG - Agreed! Bikers ALWAYS acknowledge each other, totally cool about it, I remember a Harley guy giving me a thumbs up on my Ducati...

I always wave, usually just open my hand while on the steering wheel, and most of the times get a response.

Now, the way some are treating the 991 and its new owners, I wonder if my wave will be welcomed.

Will the 997 and older model guys wave to the 991?
