Looks great ! Where did you end up getting your parts ? I need to do the exact same series of maintenance items. Seems like there are some differences in price between suppliers...
Thanks! After some shopping I went with Mann for the filters and the genuine Porsche side markers. Found everything on Amazon with great pricing and free next day shipping.
Deleted sunroof, painted car Lizard Green, wet sand, and prepped GT3 front bumper
Wow I’ve always been wanting to do this. The paint looks amazing. Good job.
could you share some info on the sunroof delete? I know you can buy the roof from Porsche but what’s the process to install? Is it just held by some special glue or is there welding etc to be done?

The expensive piece is the headliner, at around $1600. If you can find a used 996 one, that is supposed to work too.
There are a few different ways to do the actual roof panel. You can buy from Porsche, or buy aftermarket (carbon, fiberglass) , or just fab in a piece from the old sunroof metal. Unless you have a cage, you dont want to do the carbon for safety reasons. My shop recommended welding in the old panel, and labor was about $2k CAD. I only took on the project because of all the other stuff I was doing with all the glass out, and though it would be a cool thing to do to match the look Im going for with the car.
That being said, unless you REALLY want it deleted, or have to delete it for some reason (like helmet clearance,) it is not something that I would consider. No matter how you cut it, there is a lot of work involved, and a lot of money. I dont expect there to be any real significant performance improvement, so it was a lot of cash to spend just to get a smooth roof. If I knew all the costs from the beginning, I would not do it again.
I drove the wheels off. I had a bike ride in Markleeville, CA called Death Ride and chose to drive some of my old favorites to get there. Capitol Reef National Park Zion National Park St George - City of many 911s Death Valley National Park Lone Pine, CA - Mt Whitney Lake Tahoe from Heavenly ski area Great Basin National Park
Got in late last night. I finished off by washing the dead bugs and brake dust off this morning. The new NanoBond ceramic coating I just applied made that easy. I would like to claim that even the bugs wouldn't stick to it, but unfortunately they do until you wash it.
Installed a much anticipated Europipe stage 2 exhaust. Opted for quad tips over the ovals need some adjustment. Incredible craftsmanship 76MM pipes
Amazing that all (including the turbos, plumbing, intercoolers and this exhaust) fits in the engine bay. Looks like a really nice setup and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. On the other hand, it also makes me appreciate how relatively simple it is to work on the N-A engine.
@GoldenGorilla amazing trip! Mine is an almost twin of yours, C2S instead of C4S. I was thinking about getting the wheels painted black and the lip machined like yours. Now I have some photos to visualize it, thx!
I went to Death Valley in my Benz, how did the 911 do there? It looks like you don't have the third radiator?

How cool.
You're right, I don't have the third radiator. The heat was no problem though I was in the park at 10AM and out by noon. In the valley the oil temp stayed a bit under 225 and on the climb out over the Panamint range it hovered around 250. The coolant dummy gauge never moved from 175. AC kept up just fine. I was lucky to find a shaded parking spot when I stopped at Furnace Creek, which helped keep the interior cool while I wandered around the visitor center.
My wheels are factory painted basalt black to match the car. It is hard to see the metal flake most of the time due to brake dust, scratches and haze on the wheels. Unfortunately a previous owner put a little rash on each of the back rims, which I'll have repaired in the winter this year or next. Next winter I'll strip off the synthetic wax I applied, polish them (with a dremel felt wheel and by hand) and apply a ceramic coating to help them keep their gloss better. I like them, but the basalt black is tough to maintain.

Oh I didn't even know that was a factory option for those wheels. I've only seen someone else powder coat them. I have ceramic coating on the whole car and the wheels, can't recommend it highly enough!
