A minor thing really but the license plate frame that came with the car had some nits IMHO. I drilled out the holes from the back, threaded in nylon bolts, then further used some Sugru on each bolt to secure them in place and acts as bumpers against the paint to prevent any scratches and lift the metal frame away from the car. I also put small patches of PPF between the cured Sugru and the paint. I then put the plate on and fastened it with washers and nuts. The end result a secure plate that doesn't damage the car in any way.
Last but not least - drove the car and enjoyed the hell out of it. Will probably go again tonight when it cools off and sun isn't that strong.
PS - also ordered some supplies from Chemical Guys - they are having a sale this weekend. (not affiliated)
The passes in Switzerland are starting to open. Went for a drive in the Emmental, and drove the Glaubenbühlpass.
Beautiful scene.
Can you please discuss the Swiss speed limit situation? I have a friend in the Black Forest and he says the Swiss are really cracking down on speed limits lately.
They even fined a policeman 600 sf while in pursuit of criminals.
In regards to the actual steering wheel being thinner or thicker I honestly do not feel any difference other than the new wheel feels much smoother (less sticky of course)...
On the trim thing, I think the door handles are in between the new and old steering wheel but mainly because they are so different...
Not sure if this gives a good indication of the new wheel vs handles
That is very helpful, thank you very much!
The new wheel looks great in your car
Swapped out my convertible top switch. The old one was rattling and driving me crazy. Dealer quoted me $270 to swap it out. I purcahsed the part from Sun Coast for $45 and it took me about 30 seconds to replace it. I can't imagine how they could quote $270 for a 30 second job.
Over the weekend I did the following:
- New floor mats
- Replaced missing cowl caps
- New frunk struts
- New cabin air filter
- Oil change/ filter to Driven BR40 (then to DI40)
- Magnetic oil drain plug
- New spark plugs
- New water pump
- Installed BC Racing coilovers

Looks great... Going to do the Simplon pass the weekend following the next, to drive to the Italian Lakes for a long weekend...
See you have a temporary number plate so gather you're only here until September(?) so wonder if you have you done Grimsel Pass yet between BE and VS (https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-ch/.../grimsel-pass/). It's an amazing drive up the mountain towards Kanton Bern and easily reached from VD...
