New member-just picked up my Black on Black 2009 997.2 in Miami and drove it to Daytona last night. No ticket! Cruising infield at Rolex today. Got alot to learn. So..just finished third day at Rolex. Met some friendly and proud Porsche owners who were helpful in giving me some options on local mechanics and info on PCA membership. The whole scene, especially the various different races and action around the garages, was great. I am considering painting the brake calipers red. Thoughts? What and where would I find best paint and "PORSCHE" decals?

I'm half way through replacing my AOS on my 05' Carrera S. I learned the hard way that the plastic tubes that feed into the AOS aren't cheap. I'm waiting on a new tube to ship and will hopefully button her up by the end of this week.

Advanced
I painted my calipers (red), painted my wheel hubs (white), installed a set of color matched wheels (white) and blacked out the center louver of the front side air intakes (carbon fibre graphic tape). Gives the car a whole new look...like getting a new car!
BTW: the louver covers are a subtle, but effective change, and easy to do. If I get tired of it, they peel right off!

I rebuilt my brake caliper on the drivers side due to corrosion causing the damper plate to be stuck inside of the 44 mm piston. (Porsche wouldnt cover under CPO!!!! with 36k miles on the car). I painted my rotor hats black as well as my lug nuts while up in the air and flushed clutch hydraulic fluid also. Getting to the end of the mainainance list....just in time for Sebring!!

Installed black decals
The silver decals on my Carrara White 997 never really looked right, given that the car generally has a monochromic color scheme. There's not enough contrast between the silver decals and the white paint. Accidentally snapping off part of the "C" off the logo while washing Moby last week gave me the excuse I needed to fix the issue. So, I painted new badges black and installed them today.
Check out how the paint pooled on the backing film for the decals. Now I have some custom 911 art for my office

I cleaned my HREs, then I tried out my new Griot's "Car Wash in a bottle" today after hitting a couple of Cars & Coffee meets this weekend. It has a nice, coconut-y smell. Seemed to do a decent job on the post-snow grime.... Still need to figure out a waterless way to clean off the bottom of the car!
