Quick run to Seattle and back. Nice to open up the pipes. My 86 year old Aunt said it was a "fancy car". Nice.

Started first ever major detail at 7 this morning on my 2007 Meteor Gray over black 4S. Just rolled 10k mi. last week....sad day.

Started taping off rubber....then on to claying, polishing w/ PC & Menzerna SF4500 and finishing w/ Power Lock Sealant.

Then it was on to the interior....Lexol over full leather. Needless to say, I'm beat....12 hrs later. I thought my paint was in good shape until I finished up today. Unbelievable how much brighter it looks.

Tomorrow it's off to the beach for the Taste of Pinellas....if i can drag my azz out of bed!

Had a four wheel balance done. Had an annoying sort of full car vibration at fast speeds. Much better now , rears were off buy quite a lot.

Awesome Duke. Post some pics so we can see your handy work. I spent about 14 hrs last year doing the same. It truly is a labor of love but well worth it for that crystal shine. Looks like it's time for me to dig out the Meguiar Polisher again.

I installed black leather steering wheel cover (DO NOT DO THIS! TERRIFIC WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR VERY LITTLE NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IF YOU GO FROM BLACK PLASTIC TO BLACK LEATHER!).

Also installed black leather mirror triangles, beige leather dash ends, and a new black leather dome light cover.

Next weekend I install the door handle surround trim and defrost/center speaker in black leather.

Had a altercation with my insurance company. They originally charged me the premium for a 2007 997.1. I corrected them, i.e., told them it was a 2008 and now they have billed me for a 2009! tearing my hair out over this and have posted a thread seeking help!

Hallett is great! I know that turn--the last before the big straightaway and the end.

Today I completed a 3-weekend project on my 2007 C2.
  • New X51 Headers
  • New NHP 200-Cell Cats
  • New NHP Sport Mufflers
  • New Dual Chrome Tips
  • New Denso IK22 Spark Plugs (note: gap had to be adjusted from 0.8 to 1.6mm)
  • New Beru Ignition Coils (hadn't planned on doing these; lesson learned)
  • New IPD 82mm Comp Plenum
  • New GT3 Throttle Body
  • New BMC Air Filter
  • New Serpentine Belt
  • Softronic ECU Flash
  • Sore muscles, a few bumps on my head, and a bruised thumb
Many thanks to everyone who posted DIY advice on RennList, RennTech, and 6Speedonline.

Have you noticed a difference after all the work?

Did you clean up the inside welds on the X51 headers first?
