Took a weekend trip to Vegas and on the way back home drove old Route 66 west starting at Goffs Road. Got as far as Ludlow and then the road goes to sh*t. I'm surprised I didn't rattle the wheels off the car. Hopped on the I-40 the rest of the way through Barstow and Victorville.
Took a bit longer than just coming down the I-15 but there was virtually no traffic and long straight stretches of road to open up on. Plus the interesting ghost towns and long abandoned buildings along the way.

I've had my 09 C4S for six months now. I've lubricated, clayed, washed, sealed, glazed, waxed, and detail sprayed her more than any car I've ever owned. Drove to work in the rain today, can't wait to see how she'll handle in the snow. Damn these cars are cool. (no mods, no plans)
Then just stare at the car for an hour in lust..

Pretty well. That was my first time. The chips look much better although there are still some tiny divots.
After watching the video online, I think I may go over it one more time to try to smooth those out.
Overall, it looks significantly better.

Tried to fish out a penny that my 5 yr old daughter shoved inside the slot where the seat back levers are located on the drivers side seat - no such luck. Apparently she's been doing it for a while. And that's why she was so quiet.

The ONLY fault with my 997.1 when purchased was that it had a front US license plate installed (and four unsightly holes in the bumper).
I got on eBay and purchased a European tag including a tag frame from Porsche Zentrum Stutgart (second pic). I also ordered a repro tourist-delivery front tag...
After many failed attemps, I have decided not to BEND the tag frame to fit the front of the 997. Instead, it will be put on the 964 Speedster. Yesterday, I finally drilled two holes in the repro tourist delivery plate and mounted it. After a long fun run, I took these pics in the garage. I am very pleased with the look... (and btw, the date on the right side of the plate was the date I purchased the car)

New tires, yearly service including oil change, and new pollen filter and air filter. New tires have transformed the car, the ride is much smoother and no longer teeth rattling. I would recommend replacing tires at least every 3-4 years just for the improvement in ride and handling quality.
