That's why Edgy's attention to detail is so impressive...

I sprayed a card with 3AS Blue Turquoise to compare to the Speedster's Blue--what do you think?

Dan-- Glad to confirm someone special-ordered red one; classic Speedster color, IMHO.

Something is not right here. If Dan painted the card Turquoise Blue and laid it on a Speedster and the colors appear to match, then why are there two distinctly different colors on the Speedster and Dan's car in Dan's pics in post #1 of this thread????????

The pic Dan took of the TB card laid over the Pure blue speedster was taken indoors at the LA auto show under artificial lighting. I'd have to say that it's the lighting that is making the two colors look so similar. We know that many of the Porsche colors have a chameleon effect in different lighting situations, and can vary greatly from indoors to outdoors.

Phil is precisely right. As with most colors, the lighting can change a color enough to make a difference!

Phil, Dan,

OK, that makes sense to me. Thanks for the info. For a while there, I thought I was going color blind or crazy! Take your pick!

That's why I was eager to see one in daylight--to park next to it and see for sure what the difference was. Although I knew that they were different in the artificial lighting, I was unable to show the difference in a digital photograph, until I get them both into sunshine.

Default Paging a 997 Speedster to Dana Point, CA Sun AM

Greetings from a CO boy who just landed in SoCal.

Need RLers' help:
Anyone interested in possibly making Speedster photographic history Sunday, July 31, needs to please get in touch with me pronto (send me a PM, or respond with your cell # here).

A couple of friends are bringing their 1989 & 964 Speedsters to the 356 Club's Concours at Dana Point's Lantern Bay Park. We're just one 997 short of having the entire Porsche Speedster line-up represented, which would likely be a world-first!

We're planning to pull into the Concours entrance promptly at 8 AM to display together. It's a 356 event, & we need to ensure we don't detract in any way from the Club, as would happen if one 911 Speedster shows up late.

Dan-- PM sent back.

So, did you find a 997 speedster?

Where are you posting the pics of this event? I almost went and would love to see some of your pics.

Thanks
