Do you have any idea how many Porsche 997 owners have never had to use their windshield wipers because of rain? Much less, ever actually USED the windshield squirters to remove debris on the windshield! And even FEWER have EVER used their headlight washers!

I have had my 997 for about 2 years. Today it got rain on it. I had fun driving it in the rain and playing with the stability management. When I got it back in the garage though I wasn't quite sure about how to manage the rain water. I ended up hosing it off well and then drying with microfiber. I didn't want road-grime and acid rain to stay on it. do you guys do anything special when rainwater gets on your P-car?
right?
your car does have a few stages of paint applied over that oh-so-delicate-metal, right?

Enough already. If you want to continue to demonstrate that you are in a "special" P-car class which does not overly concern itself with the aesthetic part of car ownership, wonderful! Some of us care about performance, maintenance, and the aesthetics of these beautiful automobiles. Your point is no longer well-taken, and I suggest you stay within that group, whatever you believe it is.
very pithy!
and yes, i lied, i DID read through some of these posts.

I find their take on the news so enthralling, my 911 could be out there getting wet and I would be completely unaware.
Thanks to this thread, I at least know what to do when my car gets wet instead of just standing by helplessly.

Excellent. The next step for you is to buy your O'Reilly Patriot mug. Then you can sip your freshly brewed coffee secure in the knowledge that thanks to coming across this helpful thread you now have a myriad of plans of attack you can follow the next time it rains and your car gets wet.
No need to stand by helplessly anymore as that beautiful Porsche paint dissolves and gets absorbed by the surrounding soil.

Yes. I'm paying for 1500 channels and I'm only watching one.

Gauge if its time to wax it again based on the size/shape of the water beads . . .

I owned a 1999 Chrysler LHS that I sold after 6 years and 100k miles. I didn't get one extra dime for the fact that the car's windshield wipers had NEVER been used, and hence no wiper-related scratches in the glass.
When I bought the car a friend introduced me to RainX, and the rest is history. I did have to replace the wiper blades. When they just sit there for 6 years, they tend to fall apart.
