You guys don't know rain unless you've experienced it in Houston. A flash rain might cause localized flooding! And drivers don't realize that they should slow down when it rains especially the Suburban drivers.

After you get it all dried off, I'd be interested in an overall measurement.... Did it shrink?

It comes in from Ohio' coal plants, or Japan , silly. You see, that's the problem, stuff you do affects others on the planet and visa versa.

1) You own a 997. You should SUE someone for that rain.
2) I end up on the floor in a fetal ball, whimpering when my 928 gets wet. (leaking tranny fluid doesnt count)
3) You do have a water softener and a de-ionizer on your garden hose..right?
4) Ever seen the serial number on a condom?

Acid rain isn't as much of a problem in CA as it is in all points east (and this has little to do with EPA or State regs). You'd be better off obsessing about ozone and smog here. Oh, and don't drive your car in the a.m. either - you don't want all those nasty terpenes that the trees/plants are emitting (which contribute to the ozone problem) contaminating your paint.

some people do really spend up to several $100 on pro detailers waxing those cars so I could understand why they would be scared to get water on those cars, but in all honesty any obsession should have its limits.

I actually like the rain. It's a lot better than the hose water for the car. I just wipe off, unless there is other stuff kicked up from the road. Then I will just clean during my normal every-other-week schedule. As others have said, a twice-a-year detail is very good at keeping the car looking great.

rain helps to wash the underside of the car! It saves me some time in the future detail when I'm trying to get the crud off of the belly.

Good wax a few times during rainy season and you'll be fine.

Do a search, there's a 28 step process. Remove panels/wheels/bumpers, dip in a compound. And a PDF format form you fill out to send to Porsche explaining why the vehicle was driven in the rain.

Just the thought of this happening to me made me throw up a little in my mouth.
Seriously though I don't drive mine in rain because I hate washing cars!

THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE. No one can be that truly worried about what RAIN will do. I mean this isn't 1930's ear paint. Porsche's paint isn't 1300's era Ming Dynasty paint.
