What do you do when your car gets rain on it

As for "WHO EVER SAID" that rain harms the car it's implied by the thread in general and it's implicit in every mention of "acid rain." The last time this subject came up several people seemed to hold that belief.
You might want to dial back your indignity meter about two notches. I think it would improve your disposition greatly.

If you were to venture to New England I'd be happy to show you any number of examples where acid rain has destroyed a paint finish.
What I'm seeing are 2 camps, one who treats their cars as... well cars. (OMG).. and the other that places that car on a pedestal and appreciate an immaculate car as much as they appreciate driving that car.. I don't see anything wrong with either. It's totally personal preference. Certainly nothing to get anyones panties all in a bunch.
There are those that race and those that do Concours. Same deal. To each his own.
There are those that PDK and those that (know how to) shift. Same deal. Each to his own.
Forgive the stuff in parenthesis. I just can't seem to keep my wry sense of humor separated from the arguements.
Enjoy your cars... we all drive a Porsche.. remember?

I think it would be great if we would stop ragging on this issue. I got defensive, as if being critisized for washing my car. Totally my over-reaction, and I apologize for irritating or offending anyone. I like to just drive it; this got too far somewhere....

Mine was driven most of the winter here in MN... Rain was the least of my concerns.

Cars look great when they have rain on them, especially just after a good wax and the water is beading. It's also the best time to sell one although probably but not the best time to buy one!

I just wipe 'em off as soon as I get home. The longer they stay on, the tougher it gets to get them off. The whole month of May is love bug month down here.

I dread the rain because I have a cardboard temporary out of state plate on the back and the rain will soften it and maybe dissolve the ink. Otherwise, I would love to take my car out in the rain so I can bring it back in my garage and wipe it down. The car is a bit dusty.

Yer just saying that to fit in with the Di-Hydrogen Monoxide group. (DHMO)
DHMO is dangerous to not only your car but your well being! http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html
