I've had no desire to replace my 996 C4S cab. Until now.

It says PASM, but from the look it must be SPASM. They don't appear to mention LSD, but I'm guessing it's in there.

A GTS with Sport Buckets would be very nice...

From the 33 page brochure avaliable at http://www.porsche.com/international...ra-gts/detail/:

- 19" Carrera Sport wheels are avaliable as an no-cost option (painted black)
- std suspension = PASM, SPASM (#P17) or LSD w/ PASM (#220) are extra cost options
- rear seats are avaliable as an no-cost option!

Oh my....my timetable may have just moved up. Who needs a 991 anyways. It's going to be as long as an aircraft carrier.

You didn't get a clear look at that wheel...it's a center lock.

Also, the drag coefficient is going backwards again.

The Carrera of 2006 was .28; and the Carrera S was .29

With the wider body and dumbo ears, the new GTS is .30 and .31 (for the PDK car). Cleaner is better to me.

Non center lock is a no cost option, the pic is meant to show that option I beleive. To be more specific, that no cost option is the 19" Carrera Sport with spokes painted black, none of the other Carrera rims are mentoned, either in the brochure nor in the online car configurator.

If you have centerlock tools and centerlock track wheels already it might be an advantage. For the most of us who have lug nut drivers and regular 5-bolt wheels it's terrible. Centerlock is really an annoying gimmick, I'm not doing pit stops, with an impact driver it takes about 15 seconds to get a normal wheel off.

... but I can't really complain about this package. This is really the rare Porsche special edition that actually makes me want it. It's all action, good value, it's exactly the car I would want if I was buying a new one right now. I'm very jealous of anyone getting one, which isn't something I've felt about any other car since I got my 997 (I hope she can't hear me; I still love you baby).

I just noticed that in the brochure they list TPMS as an option. I think I'm going to by today and change my order to GTS + TPMS + SPASM + heated seats (wife req.) + rear seat (free option).

Now, red or white.

Hold the phone. Carrera S standard features that are optional on the GTS:

650 • Electric slide/tilt sunroof
482 • Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM)
608 • HomeLink® (programmable garage door opener)
454 • Cruise control (automatic speed control)
810 • Floor mats
870 • Universal audio interface (iPod®, USB, AUX)

I'm not sure about bluetooth, but I think this is what might enable it:

619 • Mobile phone preparation

Its not specifically listed as included or optional. Quickly having second thoughts as once you remove those options, you've got a price roughly equal to a full MSRP S + X51 + 176 (PSE).

That's one sexy 911. I especially like the blacked-out rear lower valance. The GTS is a complete package as a 911 for me.

Not to nit pick, but I thought all US cars are required to have TPMS.

More than S not quite GT3 - Seems Porsche will create a niche for everthing.

Porsche customers are going to walk into the dealer and say I would like a 911. The sales rep responds, great - "Would you like a 911 Carrera, or an S, 4, 4S, Targa 4, Targa 4s, Cabrio, Cabrio S, Cabrio 4, Cabrio 4S, GTS, GTS Cabrio, Sport Classic, GT3, GT3RS, GT2, GT2 RS, Turbo, Turbo S, Turbo Cabrio, or Turbo S Cabrio?"

Buyer.... Ummmm (blank stare), ummmmm........................
