It is like may things: You get out what you put in. I hope you enjoy your PCA Region. I have several around me in the greater Bay Area (GGR, Diablo, Loma Prieta, ect.) The different regions have different focuses: Some more towards tracking, some more towards shows and touring.

I've been a member since 1998. Joined initially "just because"; then got into PCA DE's and membership was essential to getting in the DE's which always sold out before being opened to non-members; then stopped doing DE's but stayed a member.
Honestly, I rarely attend any events, but likely will go to Porsche Parade from time to time. So I guess that's why I keep my membership current.
And for me, the cost has more than paid for itself for a lifetime through:
A. In 2002 they offered a $1,000 rebate to PCA members who bought an 02 Boxster S (which I took advantage of).
B. 10%-15% discounts on shop work
C. The PCA Club Coupe--I entered and was selected as one of the 48 buyers. Mine's number 2 of 50, and Porsche kept number 1. So that was pretty lucky, and the price they sold the car for was a bargain compared to equipping a 997 similarly. And I plan on keeping the Club Coupe until it dies or I do![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Will everyone's PCA membership pay "dividends" like mine has? Probably not, but it was worth it to me.

Does PCA membership allow for discounts on new cars? This may be a significant benefit.

In my case, it was (both times) one of those right place/right times things.
The Boxster and Boxster S rebate offered to PCA members in 2002 was a one time thing, according to Porsche (and subsequently the then head of Porsche Cars North America, whose name I cannot think of, was replaced), and hasn't been repeated.
The PCA Club Coupe was done to mark the 50th anniversary of the Porsche Club of America (obviously a one time thing), and at the time I remembered thinking, "Nice deal", and it was. At the time the X51 engine option was scarce and literally "sold out" at the nearly $18,000 option price. So Porsche surely didn't need to effectively "discount" the Club Coupe pricing, but they did by selling it for $99,911.00 plus whatever other additional options each buyer chose.

Joined in 2006. Very active region (Shenandoah). Always something going on. Great leadership and member participation. PCA membership is the second best reason for owning a Porsche.
