For those in the Altanta area, try coming out to the Petit Le Mans in October. It's one of the largest Porsche Platzes. Not sure if any Platz tickets are still available, but even if you don't bring your Porsche, you're more than welcome to come hang out in the tent with fellow PCAers.

Porscheplatz - there is a corral for Porsche cars and a tent with refreshments and a big screen TV to get out of the sun and take a break. Not sure, but previously it was sponsored by Jim Ellis (dealership).

I'm a 15 year plus member who loves the club, the events and the people. I'm active primarily in DE but wish I could find the time to go to more events and volunteer. As someone here noted you get what you give...but the price of admission could be covered in the first service discount. It really is the people- I've met some of the most wonderful people I've ever known from all walks of life.
FWIW I think the national magazine sucks. Compared to other club magazines it's just terrible (look at Star or Roundel). The editors are cast in stone, have been there for some 50 years and the thing has ossified as a result.
Our regional magazine (Potomac) is fantastic- great photography, excellent graphic design and well written, interesting articles. Total opposite even if half the heft.

Here's the info for the Petit Le Mans PorschePlatz. It's located at the top of the hill near the bridge (10A). Great viewing area and if you drive your Porsche, a better parking spot.

PCA Potomac. Great group of people. Stellar events. Regular Saturday morning breakfasts with fun drives. Regular tech sessions, track events, concours, etc. Drive and dine events throughout the year, many with P-car dealer sponsorships: Polo/Horse shows, Air Shows, Boat Shows. Oh, and Pano every months...well worth the $40 a year.
