What reports should I ask for with a PDK ? Do you still need a DME ? Is there a report on how many Launch Controls have been done ?
Lady owned from 5k miles, according to Park Place , she did not use the manual function, wouldn't be able to figure it out.

TIA

Man that is a beautiful car! Love the color combo. I would definitely get a DME scan. Maybe the previous owner let her grandson use it at the track on weekends! The dealership can produce the scan in minutes.

No DME needed. PDK will not allow the engine to over rev. It was not uncommon for a left over brand new '09 with that particular exterior color (which was less desirable for many buyers) to be discounted by atleast $20k for the original owner. What was the MSRP. Launch vehicles came with sport buckets which is another negotiation factor 'coz not many can get in and out that easy. If u like green and bucket seats you may have the right car. Negotiate further, get us the MSRP and tell us that it has sports chrono option. Dealer does software updates for PDK during servicing.

I have a couple of exceptions on that car. When Porsche announced the launch cars for the MY09 version of the 997 they made several mistakes. One of the big new changes they claimed to be improving was the navigational interface. However, they left the nav off their launch cars. What a stupid thing to do. And you can't easily add it.

Green. Green Porsches are always difficult to resell. ALWAYS. Just so you go into this knowing. I happen to like green but many do not. We used to describe green Porsches as "theft proof green."

The sand beige is lighter than those photos show. The photos make it look more like natural brown--big difference. The sand beige gets dirty quickly.

Always remember that there is a reason (or more) as to why a car like that sits unsold.

I think there were 4 launch PDK 997s:
White/Gray C2 without sport chrono
Green/Beige C2S with sport chrono
Aqua Blue/Gray C2 cab without sport chrono
and one more that I can't remember

Some people have had some stunning deals on these cars because the ones without sport chrono didn't sell so well and the green one is not a popular colour.

To give you an idea, I was offered a new white one (150 miles) for $67k and a new blue (0 miles) for $85. I also saw a white with low miles (3k) for $63ish. There's a blue with 260 miles for $80k at Porsche of Omaha.

Do a search of 09/automatic cars at the porsche used car website.

Very nice car. I really respect Dan's advise about the colour, but it is very beautiful to me. Mine is a silver with black interior. It is the most common set up and not very unique; but that is what I always wanted my Porsche to be. I live in the Dallas area, but use another dealer closer to my home. My neighbour just bought a 997 from Park Place and loved the transaction. They are apparently very nice to work with. Best of luck on this.

Cheers

+1

No need for DME scan, it's impossible to over rev with PDK.

Very good point on the '09 discounts. LOTS of those cars sold for $20k under sticker. No way I'd pay more than $30k off the sticker, or even more! The '09's received the deepest discounts Porsche has EVER offered.

One here in Houston that had been for sale since the turn of the century it seems finally sold. Had 2k less miles and went for much closer to $70.5k

Thanks guys, I do like the color and my deal would be 75700 certified and shipped. More investigation reveals curbing, interior issues, and new tires were installed at 13k miles for some reason. An middle aged Asian lady owned it after being a PCNA car...I think I'll pass.
