What don't you like about your 997?

That's not a 997 though. It's probably some dumpy 996. Look at the retro leather color.

Raido reception in my `06 C2S... my preference is to drive with the sound system in the off position and turn up the rear speaker... however, my wife like to listen to the radio on occasion.
Am I the only one with lousy reception or is it simply what you get... as my service manager tells me?

Seems like 997.2 and a Remotekey solves a lot of the gripes.
I would like:
- smaller key or comfort access style keys
- spare - at least optional, rather than me having to piece it together from older model parts.
- better stereo - maybe we see the new Burmester next time.
- I worry about that odd "paint" on the interior as well. Doesn't seem so sturdy, although I don't have any issues yet...
Hard to complain so far though - it is really such a pleasure to drive this car.

My car is now 4 and 1/2 years old. The one thing I disliked from Day 1 was the plastic center console. I hadn't thought about it or inquired about upgrading it when I placed my order for an '06. It is such a large piece of plain old plastic. I have since replaced it with the stitched leather version (Suncoast) and with a new console storage lid cap but it wasn't cheap to buy. I do think it looks a lot nicer though.
Does anyone else find the stock console to be somewhat substandard?
Other items that have been mentioned: 1) Some form of spare tire still would be reassuring although I haven't had the need (yet); 2) primitive electronics on the radio/i-pod integration, etc. I've got the Dension installed and it helps greatly but wish the integration was OEM.

Creaking noise from drivers' door.
my Carrera S does the exact same thing, creaking noise from the drivers door... been 2 the dealership 4 times now under warrenty and they still have not fixed the problem... did u ever figure out what it was and how to fix it?
I'm annoyed be that creak/groan I get from the driver's door when I drive over a bump. Both of my 997s have done it.
Hate the Sport Chrono and the wart. Next time I won't settle for a car that has it.
I envy the 997.2 PCM (although I'm PCM-less in the GT3 and mostly don't miss it).
I wish it weighed a couple hundred pounds less. I wish the buying public were more interested in weight than in horsepower. We'd get better cars if they were. I don't want a 400hp C2S, i want a 3000lb C2S. (Less would be even better, but staying reasonable...)

That I sold the only 2002 Imola Orange/Onyx NSX made to get this car too!
Nah...still love my Carrera but what gripes me are two things:
1. Instrument or Dash rattle...only happens on some roads but man its annoying (I'll need to search the TSB mentioned earlier)
2. Plastic center console. What POS material did Porsche use on this? Even plastic holds up better than this so-called plastic. Scratches galore and the stupid ashtray lid keeps half opening at the slightest touch (car is a fully non-smoking car since new and I don't smoke)
