they changed the CPO coverage about 18 months ago to basically mirror the new car warranty. When was your CPO coverage started?

Wow, CPO doesn't cover this? An engine with 55k miles? Definitely interested in seeing the DME.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would this not be covered under the CPO warranty?

Regards,

I don't believe that this is not covered under CPO. Either your dealer is lying, or something else is going on.

They may deny the claim on the other hand for engine abuse if that's found to be the case!

Do you have DME records in 4+ areas? How come it is not covered by CPO? Why?

It is not dealer who decides about CPO coverage. I am also extremely curious to find out from OP why warranty coverage was denied.

Must be the reason, this is such a mechanical failure that it's probably covered under Power train as well, they are probably denying the claim due to whatever reason they've found!

I would be escalating like crazy. You have a CPO warranty (new program or old program, either way) and it doesn't cover an engine detonation?

Not right, not right at all....

This is covered under warranty as far as I have been told unless the engine in some way have been tampered with.

Have you tried 1-800-PORSCHE to try and get some help? They are pretty fair and responsive based on my experience.

My experience was unfortunately different. The one time I needed to contact PCNA about an issue with my dealer they were utterly, utterly useless. Simply awful to deal with...
