They both can blow up without warning?

So no one wants to guess?

Answer: they're both covered.

Porsche is going to cover the engine under warranty. Yahoo!!! This will end up being the cheapest clutch replacement ever. They already have the engine out so I just have to pay for the clutch and I have that 20% certificate from Porsche for that.

I was just looking at what it would cost to do that.

Great news, although I think everyone expected them to do so, and if they didn't probably you had a great case against them!

Ask them to put in an X51 in there then!

Hey that's great news, glad to hear that Porsche is stepping up to the plate and taking care of this one for you.

I agree, but WHY wouldn't they?

It's not like they stepped up or did something extraordinary for a customer... he's got a CPO car, and this is catastrophic mechanical failure that should be covered under Power Train even if the car wasn't CPOed.

Alex,

I was only going by what the owner (paul) stated on page 1 of this thread informing all of us that his car was a CPO and that Porsche was NOT covering it. I also had no idea why they wouldn't cover this engine failure and I'm glad in the end it all worked out for him and it's covered. Again I do not know all the details just what is posted in this thread. I do agree that since it is a CPO Porsche should cover this.

The only negative is for all of us when this happens. When PAG picks up the tab they will not share the story of WHY the cylinders did that with the public. If the OP had to pay the tab he would be told what caused the failure, and could share it herein.
