Unhappy Trading in my 997s for a Nissan GTR.

Call me crazy. But I am going to do it. I am going to get rid of my beloved '06 997s for a Nissan GTR tonight. It has been a fantastic three years of ownership but I am ready to try out this new beast after a short test drive last week. Has anyone else considered this change as well? I am a diehard Nissan guy as well. I actually race a 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R in NASA and have had various Nissans for the past 17 years.

The dealer is giving me $63500 for my 10000 mile '06 S which is heavily optioned. I know I could get a little more privately but I am pleased with the value they put on my car. Unless anyone is interested in it within the next couple of hours!

'06 997s 10k miles, GT silver on black leather fully optioned with PCCB and brand new michelin ps2s.

Reading all the press about the GTR and its track capabilities has really peaked my interest. Being within 2 hours of VIR has pushed me over the edge.

I will let you guys know what I think.

Eric

'06 997s for a few more hours
'09 GTR tonight!

Let us know what you think. Best of luck.

$63.5K a bit lite for your car. I wish I was in the market the PCCB alone is a big premium.

I know I could get more if I sold privately. However, the PCCBs are a tough sell. The replacement rotors are ridiculous. I know people often replace with Cup car brakes. I have a lot of carbon fiber in the car which offers nothing in resale as well. I guess you live and learn about heavily optioning Porsches! I am looking forward to Bluetooth and XM standard however! I will keep you posted.

How much are you paying for the GT-R? If it's marked up even $1, I wouldn't do it...

if you're that hot on the gtr it's a smart move to buy now before the price increases go into effect. seems like the guys who bought gtrs for 10 K over sticker weren't so foolish after all.

ahhhh...the japanese are "bery bery bery smaht"......however, just like the cost of flat screen TV's, they shall find a way to mass produce this car and deliver it for cheap in the future....5 years from now, people will be like Nissan G-what?

$10K over is still foolish unless you turn around and sell it for $20K more. The GT-R is a CAR - it will depreciate, therefore any markup paid is vapor the moment you sign the paperwork.

Ha Such anger. My theory as follows: a) Akim lives in orange county...I'm guessing irvine...he's likely asian...thus, the hard feelings; b) with that language, obviously uneducated, and c) his post will soon be vaporized by the site administrator.

This is a porsche board, for those that really enjoy the car and the people. I am really getting tired of all of the non-porsche posts. So, Akim, just like the car, you too shall pass.

Cole
