Weird. I just ran into Ghetto Racer in the 964 forum, and now he's over here too.

Please don't lump the rest of us in OC with the likes of people who trash talk like Akim47. While we have no shortage of jerks here, there are many fine folks too, like most anywhere.

Ok, I will bite as well. I didn't know I had to have a certain amount of posts on here to qualify my Porsche ownership in addition to the three years with the car. A lot of the limited posting deals with this post I have started, it has turned into a bunch of crap.

Yup 2 hours from VIR and I took my Porsche there, 14 times. Does that qualify? Does it need to be more? Should I have waited to jump to the GT-R?

I will enjoy the car. Thank you.

Eric

So long, sorry to see you go.

I've only test driven a 997 Carrera Cab and am still waiting for my Targa 4S but I am for sure eager to get a chance to take a GTR around the block. Its hard for me to imagine going from a Porsche to a Nissan. Its not exactly common for most people to dream about owning a Nissan. haha.

What would you say? For non track orientated driving, which would you have preferred?

BTW, congrats on the new ride. I love Porsche but I will always be a Nissan "fan boy". haha

I'm really not that p.c. or anything, and not to turn the thread into something it's hopefully not, but since when has it been o.k. to mock the way some asians speak english? Is it acceptable to mock african-americans, or latinos, with the way some speak with an accent or slang, and if so, do we consider this openly acceptable? Although perhaps these words weren't meant to harm, I think on some level they are harmful and insulting.

Regardless, to the O.P., best of luck with the GTR. I think the 997S is a beautiful sexy machine... the GTR not so much, but what a beast. Enjoy in good health.

It's appalling to see the level of vicious personal attack towards someone who is perfectly free to change direction and taste other waters. The OP did not deride Porsche, he just said he wanted to try something else.

'09 GTR tonight!
Having (hopefully) gotten rid of akmee, it's now time to say I hope you enjoy your car, and give us some reports on your experience. I think the racing forum would be particularly interested in your on-track experience with it.
