Pictures of rear shot of 997 and 997 wide-body?

You are correct, my friend, but as Ucube stated in post 29, it appeared that the OP was focused on the C4S on looks alone. I believe he admitted, in fact, that he had no interest in the AWD. Based on his priorities, I felt like he would be paying the upcharge simply for the widebody.

The Aerokit wing on a slightly narrower C2S looks better than the Aerokit wing on a slightly wider C4S. Some food for thought on somebody considering the Aerokit. Otherwise, a non-aero 997 looks better with the wider C4S hips, IMO.

I have been searching for pictures of rear shots of a standard 997 and a wide-body 997 such as C4S or targa 4 so that I can see the visual difference. Porsche websites didn't have good pictures. I did go to a dealer and saw them in person but I wanted to see the side-by-side shots before pulling the gun on the wide-body 997. Just like someone mentioned in earlier post, the rear-angle alone on wide-body 997 is worth the price. I don't track my cars but fatter ties, more aggressive stance, and sexier curves are what I want, not so much the AWD. But on the other hand, I could save about $8k w a narrow-body 997 since 997 body is already wider than that of 996. Cheers.

agree with edgy01. to get a 4 purely for looks (hardly noticeable at that) and then to forgo classic p-rwd engineering is beyond me. why porsche at all? why not just a 4-matic mb? or how 'bout a range? or better yet, buy an S and put a 4S badge on the back-- that should give the virtual width of at least 1/2".

I'd drive a C4S any day of the year for the rest of my life before I considered a "4-matic mb" which for the record isn't even similar to a C4S at all.
There is more to the width of a C4S then what is in the imagination and virtual reality. I have no problem telling the difference between a C2 & C4 for even a momentary glance as one passes by.

Suffice it to say, Porsche provides variety appealing to all wants! May all those with 4 wheel drive enjoy them as much as us poorer cousins with only the 2. ;-)

Is classic p-rwd engineering that way because RWD is better, or is it because when the classic p-rwd was engineered there wasn't adequate AWD sports car technology invented yet?

Yea,--personally, I don't get it in SoCal. I think it's either "get the most expensive" or "I need the training wheels because the 911 has a reputation of being squirrly."
