What? Posts #29 and #34 aren't showing up on your computer?
Or, is it that "speed reading" thing again?

Ahhh, but that's the business end - that's where you want mass, in the ***, in order to rock your world.

Ask Dave, he's into the phat *** look!

That's what I'm talkin about.
I guess I'm in Mass with mass in the ***. And by saying I'm in Mass, I am not talking about Good Friday...although I still have Catholic guilt from growing up.
So,...how about that GT3 on EBay for 15K over sticker? Anybody see that one? I believe it was Carrara White.

Instead, I decided on the 997S because it fits my needs better right now and I got 9.3% off MSRP to boot.

I had been figuring that I'd do like many 996 GT3 guys did - wait a couple of years and pick up a $115k car with 5-10k miles for $85k. Unfortunately with the 997 it looks like finding one with no options (or very limited like Xenon only) is going to be near impossible.

What happened with the 996 GT3 market is sure to happen here. Guys with money that want exclusivity buy a 997 GT3. They end up hating it and trading it in on a Turbo. Then you have a glut in the market for fully-loaded "Poseur" GT3s and not enough stripped track versions. I can't tell you how many stories just like that on the 996 I've heard (rich guy that's used to getting what he wants comes in and says he wants a GT3, buys it, drives it for 3 months and comes back saying he hates it - too low, too rough, too loud, etc. - trades it in on a Turbo...).
Ron -
Let me get this straight. Are you saying that the 'proper' 911 to buy is a base C2 with no options? I'm just trying to figure out where you're coming from in all of your posts.

I think it'll just sit there without meeting the minimum bid. Guess we could track it to see how it does. The auction, not the car.

No, I'm not saying that at all. What I'm trying to say in this case is you have a new GT3, which is designed and coveted as the ultimate streetable track car. It's low, loud, firm, tight, un-insulated, lacks PSM, etc. It's not really a street car, but rather a track car that is street legal. So I don't understand why such a car has "Bose", Navigation, heated power seats, etc. I know why the factory now offers those options. On the other hand, if you are looking for a street car with navigation, beefed-up stereo, power heated seats, etc. - wouldn't you get something like a C2S or Turbo?

Just got back from our local PCA breakfast club meeting and there were two - count 'em - 2 white GT3s there. So much for the rarity of this model in this color.

I had the only Seal Grey 997 in the bunch and so by comparison my car was rarer.

FYI to all - not that it is a big deal but... If you look at the rear license plate insert it says Bert Smith Porsche. This is my dealership in St Petersburg, Florida. The seller is in CT so he must have got it from Bert Smith Porsche??

Yeah, a dealer can tell you than in a second. Plus, I noticed holes in the front bumper for license plate... must be required in Connecticut.
