Default New RH Wheels

It wasnt an easy decision but I finally got around to my first major mod to the 997. This is my third set of RH wheels (had them on my Audi TT and my Cayman). GMP in Charlotte (board sponsor) sold them to me and did the install. The design isn't anything terribly exciting, but it has a nostalgic look to me....kind of reminds me of an old 911 I used to dream about as a kid. I saw these on a 964 here at RL and that sealed the deal for me. I havent seen any 997's with the RH's, whatdya think?

Looks nice. Are you going to lower it?

not sure....I am still debating whether to drop it or not. The PASM makes me nervous. It rides way to stiff for me when PASM is activated. I really like the feel of the non-PASM ride and dont want to screw it up. I definitely think it would look better if it dropped a little. So many conflicting posts on how much the ride will change. who knows...

The weight is the same as the Carrera S (lobster forks) in the rear and If I remember correctly 2 or 3 lbs more than the OEM in the front. Call Stephen at GMP Performance. He will take good care of you.

Nice wheels.

If you lower it, you can kiss that air dam goodbye.

A lowered car will definitely look better & will also ride harder. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they can't change the laws of physics. Reduced suspension travel, necessary for any lowering, requires a stiffer spring rate. Force equals spring rate times deflection. Stock ride height already causes ground clearance issues in a car, without the air dam. It will get worse.

yeah....i know. I already have to be careful with bumps and dips. you can see the scratches on the spoiler in the pics.

Wheels look great. GR will always be a favorite of mine.

I have H&R lowering springs and the car is a little stiffer but not too much. It does look better now though.

The wheels do look good. I see you went with the lower portion of the lip painted black - looks good too.

First major mod? What about the GT3 nose? I love it but don't you consider that "major"?

Well, yes and no. I only had an OEM front end for two days after buying the car before I hit a deer and it ended up in the shop. I requested the aerokit cup kit front end vs. putting the ol stock one on. I have driven it like that pretty much since i got it, so I guess it was unofficially my first mod, but the wheels I actually planned.

Ouch! Good decision on going with aerokit front end and the wheels too.
