Default Painted PCM package. What is it?

I would prefer something other than aluminum look on the PCM panel. I assume the painted PCM package includes the panel around the computer screen. It seems pretty expensive for just a little paint on the panel. Is there anything else to it.

Check with Eric at Bumperplugs. He can do the same thing for you and I believe is much cheaper.

My thoughts also. I added a bunch of leather to also avoid the "alum" look

The stock(no cost) finish on the PCM faceplate is "volcano gray" plastic. It is not the "aluminum look" extra cost option. If you look on the photo above with the body color painted faceplate, the horn ring in the steering wheel is the same gray plastic. There is nothing inherently wrong with this stock finish, except it clashes with any interior colors but gray. Sport seat backs are also this volcano gray plastic. PCM faceplate and sport seat backs can be specified at extra cost in aluminum look, paint or leather. Grit your teeth and sign the check.

Here are a couple of samples:
Black, Red. Artic

I think leather would be cooler.

IMHO it's a waste of dough

Lori- I thought you would have a 997 by now

We're still working on this, but here's the lowdown: Porsche, in their infinite wisdom, has not yet made the faceplates available as parts by themselves.

In other words, to paint this unit, you have to either BUY the entire HEADUNIT, or wait for a customer to send it in, or wait for a wrecked/totalled 997. Sucks.

Eventually we'll have this available. Rear Consoles and upper door trim are no problem, been doing those for quite a while, along with the seatbelt outlets for nice touches of color in the cabin.

My ride in the 997 Turbo sure did fan the flames. I like the PCM in leather alot.
