997 to be updated in 2008
Not just face lift,Porsche never just does a face lift.Always inproveing the 911. More H.P.better handling better looking new wheels an updated car.997 will take a big hit in the used car market.A lot of 997 owners. most owned by the bank by the way.They looked down on 996 owners.What comes around goes around.What makes the 911 such a great car is they keap inproveing on it.In 08 look for much more than just sheet metal.

my money is on minor improvements and very minimal hp if any...i bought a new box s in 2002 - next year the gave it a glass back window and like 5 extrta hp...they arent going to majorily modify a 997 - thast what the next generation 998 is for

It's one thing to opine about updates, but why do you have to dis other 997 owners?
Isn't life hard enough without BS trash talk like this? If the new car is better, maybe I'll get one, maybe not. But why all this superfluous stuff that is likely mostly not true?

maybe im blind but i dont see much difference..i didnt keep the lobsters anyway..the minor changes are hardly worth swapping for..im waiting for the turbo s cab

or better yet here's a 1998 / early 1999 911, and a late 1999 carrera...

I called the stealer rector porsche they will now take 10,000 off list price on 2007 model.I am wateing for the updated 997.Seems worth it knowing porsche for improveing there cars.After 3 years.

But make mine a turbo targa (BTW, I have not heard of plans for this,...I'm just hoping it will happen). Interestingly, I was out at Ira today chatting with Alfie about this very possibility. What I didn't realize was that Porsche did indeed make a turbo targa in 1988,...157 of them.
