If I don't hear of someone buying from them for 10k off list, I'm going to consider this just another one of your bull**** posts.

Is this guy for real?

We look down on 996's not 996 owners. And btw, I don't even own a 997. I own a 993. And for the most part, the 993 guys also look down on 996's. And just because they improve something does not mean the previous versions deserve less merit. You never hear the 997 guys bash the 993.. Want to know why, because the 993 was/is a "great" car. The 996 is mediocre as a 911 at best. Has no appeal to the true 911 enthusiast.
So if 997 is "great" which we all agree that it is.. Just because it's improved does not make the earlier cars any less great.. It just makes the new cars even more great..

If that's for real, please pm me the name of your contact at Rector. As much as I dislike that place, I'll gladly switch my order if they're taking off $10k.

The 996 came out lighter, roomier, FASTER, and better in virtually everyway than a 993. I never had, or have had the least bit of interest in a 993, despite the fact that I shopped them when new.

I know there are some of you anachronists that like out of date technology, but most of us are interested in performance, not living in the past. It's amazing that almost 10 years have passed since the last of the 993s, yet some of the 993 owners still haven't realized that they have been passed by (literally as well as figuratively).

The 996 beat the pants off the 993, and the 997 is an even better iteration. In case you haven't noticed, the 996 was completely different from the 993, whilst the 997 is just an evolution of the 996. There is no way an informed Porsche buyer can say they hate the 996 and love the 997. The cars are all too similar.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh, but for your type of 993 owner (certainly all are not this way) to continue to post this kind of drivel after 10 years is an embarassment to those who have a clue.

Get this guy a spell checker. Hell, let's offer him grammar lessons too. Actually, typing lessons wouldn't hurt either.
