Thumbs up Porsche Driving Experience- Masters

Just completed another 2day PDE Masters Course at the beautiful and technical Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL.

As always it was GREAT!

Weather conditions today were HOT!! 100° temp in the afternoon making for interesting and greasy driving condition around the 2.38mi 15 turn course. Tire and brake management were a big consideration as we piloted the 997 around the track.

Everytime I attend I extend my boundries and learn a bit more as well as become more relaxed and comfortable piloting the car around at speed.
It is interesting to see the PSM light flicker cresting the turn 4 hill at 90mph, not doing anything wrong, just the car geting light and the rear wheels wanting to spin at the crest.

It was a small class of only 17, with 8 instructors in attendance thats a pretty good ratio.

Great feedback from PRO drivers the likes of David Donohue who currently pilots the #58 Red Bull Porsche Daytona Prototype in the Rolex series, and Andrew Davis (6th in points) who pilots a Porsche for the Tafel Racing Team in the Rolex series as well. These are drivers who get a paycheck to drive a racecar.

The day before my class I had the pleasure of meeting Birdman, a fellow Rennlister who attended the previous Two-Day High Performance Driving Course and had the time of his life.

Have you thought about attending? Just do it, you will be glad you did...
ICON have you signed up yet? Barber is in your backyard...whats your excuse..

Watch the Rolex Series Race live on SPEED from Barber Motorsports Park, live Sunday July 30 at 3pm (EDT) and see the beauty and technical nature of he track.

Can't wait for my next Masters....in September

MJones, you're beyond hardcore. You're a LIFER. E-8 pushing E-9.

Do you choose to shift before or after the hill at turn 4?

So I've gotta ask:

A. How can you afford the expense of driving out to PDE so often?
B. How can you afford the time? (obviously no small kids and a young wife at home )

You are living my dream! I'd love to be able to drive around the country in my 911 going to driving schools.

No wife, no kids, no debt.
Only drove out once this year...but will again in Sept.

Not so much affording the time, but making the time to attend..

Ah no wife and kids explains it. If I were in that boat I'd have a fleet of cars like magwheels in and would be retired doing driving schools and visiting tracks all around the country.

Throw in six weeks per year at a Club Med scuba diving and partying.
