Cab Owners - Windscreen Standard Or Did Dealer Throw Me a Bone?
Hey Gang,
Picked up my 3.6 cab on Saturday. When I got home I popped open the front trunk and found a windscreen in its fabric bag. Hmmmn. Not on the window sticker, as I didn't order it. I seem to recall it was an option though for about $115 or so. Any idea if it's now standard? If not, I want to send the dealer a big "thank you". Maybe next time they'll throw in a TT. :-)
thanks, Jerry

Be careful with the windstop. You cannot put the seat all the way back and/or tilt it without it hitting the windstop frame. Damage to both can result. PCNA is aware of this design blunder, but is not doing anything about it.

It is standard, and as Mjones mentioned the Windscreen with the PORSCHE (white) is the option. I think it makes a huge difference with buffeting, and with high speeds on highways, with windows up the cabin is very quiet.

Porsche made the windscreen standard on the 997 cars,--and made the hardtop an extra cost option. The 996 cars had the hardtops standard, with the windscreens optional. (Guess which costs more!)

I had a windscreen (optional) with my 996. Loved it! I have it (standard) with my 997. For me the windscreen is a must have. In the winter, the windscreen allows me to be topless with outside temperatures in the 40s! It helps create an enclosed environment that keeps the cabin quieter and warmer in the winter (with heat on). Got to have it!

I definitely agree with the others: The screen is absolutely awesome and I have it installed all the time. All windows down and still no messy hair. And despite being 6'4'' tall and - thus - in need of seat space, I'm doing just fine.
