Default Guess what happened at Porsche Orlando

I was taking my 997 C4S for a spin this afternoon and thought I would stop by the local Porsche dealer in Orlando to see what the guys had in inventory. C'mon guys you know I am not the only one that does it even after you have your car.

Anyway, I pull up to the gate and see a police officer in his car -- it looked like he was writing up two cars for a ticket of some sort. My wife said it looked like he was writing up a minor accident report. Anyway, I proceed to walk on the lot and look around. I notice a steel gray 997 base with no headlights and think to myself that is odd. I keep walking and 997 after 997 had no headlights. By this time I am really spooked. I walk by one 997S to see some dark powder on the nose and think to myself fingerprinting dust. Needless to say, I walk back to the car in complete shock. I walk up to the officer that by now had let the two other cars go by now and ask him the obvious question. He said that thirteen cars had their headlights stolen sometime last night. WOW! I wonder how someone would 'launder' the parts given the P community is so small. Maybe I am not thinking like a crook.

Too bad I did not have my camera. I think I will stop by tomorrow to take some shots. Well that is my story for this afternoon.

That's weird. Kinda like a spooky movie where something has no eyes. Ever seen Event Horizon?

Yeah, I did see Event Horizon. Call me a crazy Porsche-phile; however, seeing the 997s w/o headlamps did give me the creeps.

they will end up on highly modded civics, or the lights will be cannibalized for the expensive internals, namely the xenon ballast.

PS. i love event horizon. sam niel is the man

Why is this so prevalent in Florida? Last year it was 996 headlights!

Coochas you're too much my friend. Nice to see you writing again.

Are you sure they were stolen? I thought it was the '07 headlight delete option.
