Do you let the valet guys drive your car?

Get the GIAC flashloader and use the valet mode if you want...much better than a valet key which does not affect how the car drives, just which locks can't be opened.

I did once! The idiot could not engage reverse with the car parked on a steep parking slope. The car was facing down the steep slope, so every with every shifting attempt the car would slide further down hill towards a pole that was 3 feet in front of the car. Talk about puckering up the A**H***!!!
Never again, S*** NO!!!!!!!!!!

The only time I used valet (wedding party in S.F) they broke the driver side tail lights and scratched the rear bumper. The manager claimed the driver didn’t see the pole in the parking lot. So after I went to two body shops to get an estimate of $1500 and $2000 for repairing I got a check for $1500. I had the car fixed for $500. By the way, it was my minivan.

Never ever - not even with the BMW. OCBen got it right. I'll either park it myself, park elsewhere or find another restaurant. The scene in Ferris Bueller wasn't just the imagination of the script-writer.

Well depends on the valet. Restaurant/Clubs where there are plenty of expensive cars, I don't get too bothered. It is just a car and if it gets dinged, my wife is a lawyer and my cousin owns a bodyshop.
I really like the idea of GIAC. Wish they had it for older porsches like the 964. I'll check it out and report.

Does anyone recall the Seinfeld episode where he valeted his Bimmer only to have it end up with perma body odor from the valet? It was a funny episode,...and after taking NYC cabs for about 10 years of my life I can believe that there are peolpe out there who could permastench your car.
