Do you let the valet guys drive your car?

These guys were such a bunch of pr1cks, that I had to get my buildings' security camera footage of 10 mins before I arrived at the restaurant which showed the car was perfect. Anyone that lives in LA, it was at Loconda Venneta (next to cedar sinai).

Depends on where the valet works... at any Four Seasons hotel, for example, yes I let them valet my car... at a restaurant in SF, or a casino in Vegas, or the airport in Reno, no.
Heck Truble, I'm surprised they let you in with just a TT!

If valet parking is required at the restaurant (as many of the eateries here in space cramped So Cal require) I usually park it myself nearby and walk back to the restaurant, after dropping off the wife at the front. One valet even begged me to let him valet it, that he would even park it out front, as though I would bite on the opportunity to show off my 911. ... Fat chance.

I did.......once.
Watched as the guy returning my car repeatedly.....reved the engine, dumped the clutch, lurched 4-5 ft until it stalled... he managed to repeat the process 3 times before I could get over to him and almost dragged him from my car.... The moron had left the PB almost fully engaged....
He could hardly speak english so the subtilties and nuances of my generous "verbal tip" went mostly over his head....

If I had to worry about dents, road salt, idiots smashing my car, potholes etc then I would just get a beater and be done with it. It ruins my enjoyment of the car if I'm constantly obssessing about it.
I just give them the keys and hope for the best (once the valet didn't return for about 20 minutes with my SL and when he came back the storage copmpartment in the drivers door was open (could never have driven like that without noticing it as my elbow rests there. So he had been rifiling through my car).

nope - wouldn't let them drive it. didn't you see what happened to ferris bueller?
seriously though, i can usually add another 10 or 20 bucks to have the valet guy keep the car parked by the front door and not in a lot where they're going to ding someone or i'm going to get a ding. it's worth it and it's also nice to have your car right at the door when you're leaving the restaurant.

Right! I'm going to detail the crap out of my car, never drive it in the rain, and ALWAYS park on end spots, work out religiously - then I'm going to give it to some kid to park based on his standards so I don't have to walk from parking. Nope!!!!
