Good time to check out the operation of the rain-sensor wipers. They are pretty cool.
Just go out and drive the car.....rain or shine

Or, just go out and do what you think is best for your car. Don't listen to these other guys. Do what you feel is best for YOUR car. Freedom of choice my friend.

Dude,

It is a car, rain will not hurt it. Get out there and drive it!

Shoot I drove my 1997 993 turbo the first winter I owned it in Michigan!

Default Singing in the rain...

Guys, I just had a vision of a new Porsche ad.

To the tune of "Singing in the Rain," alternating shots of Gene Kelly dancing and singing in the rain and a 997S screaming through the rain. Gene Kelly makes a smooth move in the rain, the 911 makes an equally smooth move in the rain. I think that would be a kick *** ad that would really show off the grace and handling of these amazing cars.

LOL, ok, maybe we could use The Who belting out "Love, Rain on Me" while the p-car is blissfully sliding around a rain soaked track.

There you go. ... Now you're talkin'.
See how good you can be when you stick to what you do best!

P.S. That's a great tune, btw. It's playing in my head right now.

There she sits perfectly clean and she just does not want to back out into a thunderstorm. I tried to back up, but a message came up on the instrument cluster that said "NO WAY: Thunderstorm".
1080iAddict...I myself feel the exact same way as you. I don't care as much if the car is parked and it starts raining, but if the road is wet it is what causes the most dirt, esp. in the nooks and crannies. I especially try to avoid driving in the rain when my car is clean. Of course, there are times you cannot help it, but I try my best to not get into those situations. Luckily, the 993 is not my daily driver, but I still like to keep the daily driver shiny and clean as well. Let me tell you....the brake dust on these Bimmers are horrendous! I find myself cleaning the rims at least once a week even though the rest of the car is still shiny. I don't drive as much as I used to as I count on the MTA for the commute now.

But yeah...i'm lazy...I like to keep my cars clean as long as possible.

Check eBay, I'm sure you'll find one there fairly easily. It's called "pray for bad weather" (doh!) but maybe search words as "4S" or "Carrera 4" or similar will get you one.

All I can say is - get in the 'car' turn on stick in the Beatles song ' RAIN' into the CD player and cruise at a safe speed and think about the following words:

If the rain comes they run and hide their heads
They might as well be dead
If the rain comes, if the rain comes

When the sun shines they slip into the shade
And drink their lemonade
When the sun shines, when the sun shines

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

I can show you that when it starts to rain
Everything's the same
I can show you, I can show you

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines
It's just a state of mind?
Can you hear me, can you hear me?

Sorry to sound grim - enjoy it today - might not be around tomorrow

Dude, I must be really bad. The temperature has been 95 degrees around here with a heat index of 102. I won't drive her because it's too hot and I'm not turning on the AC. Now that's crazy. She hasn't seen the rain or heat. Probably won't see anything under 40 degrees either. Sick isn't it?

Sick alright!

But what's the reasoning you won't drive in 95 temperatures or not turn the a/c on..?

Just curious because for not driving in the rain I can understand if someone plans to keep the car for 30+ years and wants to prevent the rust in all possible ways but for not driving in 95 temps or not turning the a/c on, I just can't see what the reason is..?
