Default LN Engineering 4.0 Conversion

So my case halves have been at LN Engineering for about 7 months now when I was quoted 10 weeks. Anyone else experience this? I hope its all worth it in the end!

You may not be aware but the plating facility they use had a fire and is not yet back up to speed.

You would think LNE would notify customers after 7 months that there is a major delay. 10 weeks and 7 months (which could be even longer) are very different time frames. I'd be pretty annoyed without some communication about the issues.

Have you been in communication with anyone there?

No one told you "hey that timeframe is going to need adjustment, here's what you can expect?"

Yes! I got my blocks back a couple weeks ago - Rod comp'd the shipping costs due to the long wait.

I started the build then realized FCP Euro gave me 10 of 14 crank case bolts -doh!

We indeed have reached out to all the affected customers, months ago. The fire occurred on Father's Day. They do have a plating line up, but they are nowhere near full capacity. We are working closely with Millennium and all plating jobs are being completed in the order received.

What I can't control is whether the shop conveys this to the customer.

We have multiple plating suppliers that we have used for many years, but the issue is the whole plating industry is hurting. Right now we aren't expecting any delays beyond our normal lead times.

The OP'ers delays stemmed from the fact that his block was stuck at Millennium. We pivoted when this occurred, but our backup platers can't handle the volume.

The other issue some may not know of is that US Chrome isn't doing work for the automotive aftermarket anymore to focus on OE contracts, so there is a huge bottleneck that is only going to get worst as winter hits (which is the busy season for platers).

We've done our part and have ramped up production to get ahead of demand. Again, we are doing our best to mitigate any delays due to the issues in the industry as a whole.

I do apologize if somehow the communication of the delays didn't make it to you. I'll discuss this with Operations tomorrow. I know we've had some issues with emails going to spam, but I was pretty sure that Rod had also tried calling every affected customer as well followed up with an email, if he wasn't able to connect with them.

Merely comping the shipping costs seems hardly enough given the delay and lack of communication. Just mho.

Bkuhl find a repair center that specializes in a low production car it’s definitely not many
now with the technical nature of these cars finding someone that has the technology/tools to properly repair is even smaller
so be grateful that someone even wants to deal with this
