I’ve had a 2010, 2011, and 2017 PDK and no issues. JM2C

One aspect of this forum that is so beneficial is that the members (and non-members that contribute) all have a fundamental desire to provide assistance and perspective that may prove to be helpful to anyone along their decision path or quest to get a problem or question resolved. Experience can be the best teacher many times.
The title of this thread is "997.2 PDK Feedback" - so I think that commentary related to the fundamental PDK decision (yay or nay) can fit in. If you disagree - please scroll on...
In 2019 I purchased a 2009 997.2 Carrera S with a PDK. I talked myself into a PDK at the time because of the broad availability at the time and technical marvel that the PDK is. "I can make it work..." went through my mind at the time.
I enjoyed the car, particularly at first - but then realized that for me, it became boring because of what I viewed and lack of involvement when driving it. I sold the car after 2 years and was happy to do so.
If you're 100% sold with zero reservations on a 997.2 911 with a PDK - then good for you. It's a fantastic car - and the absolute best modern 911 I think.
But, somewhere in the back of your mind, you're settling for a 911 with a PDK because that is what's available, or that you think you "can make it work for you", then perhaps you can consider to redouble your efforts to get one with a stick shift so that you don't find yourself in the same situation that I found myself in with my 997.2.

It's absolutely your prerogative to decide what feedback is welcome, valid, and called for. No disagreement in the least about that.

I'm guessing you haven't found anyone like that, given your admitted 356 hugging : )

Hello everyone,
I am considering a 2009 S and would like some feedback from owners.
Are PDK really complicated? Do they require expensive maintenance? Are they reliable and they should last for a long time if properly maintained?
Any help is really appreciated .
Thanks!

I am really scratching my head about some members here just making ridiculous comments just to steer the pot and don’t have anything positive to say but hate and criticize others.
In any case, thanks to all grown up members that posted something in a positive and constructive manner.

I feel it's my duty.
......I apologize to the few overly sensitive PDK owners who's panties are in a bind.

With all the PDK issues, costly repairs and non-engaging driving experience, I felt my comments were a help in steering a buyer away from a possible PDK purchase.
I feel it's my duty.
